I also dont see the point in trying to give a timeline to everything. SE himself has admitted theres massive errors in the timeline so seen as we didnt write the books steve has deemed these irrelevant and inconsequential. Therefore we must do the same

Agreed and here is why...

Aye well see its a story and when people tell stories they get changed every single time they are told unless they have the ability of say something like Data in Star Trek, or some other being who can access information decades or even centuries old and be completely accurate. Even then the accuracy could be faulty if the information was faulty when it was "filed" in the first place.

So dates can easily be wrong after just one such re-telling of some past event. Therefore I never, in any story, try to make much sense out of things like this because if dates and such were always totally accurate then all stories would seem as being told by some computer. I prefer the story to have a certain amount of embellishment by the person telling it, and quite frankly I like it that way because then it seems more like a story then some historical record of an event.

Just my opinion...

yes the timeline is not important however a general sequenece of events would be appreciated such as when the tiste came or when the dragons flew into SD

I really like that you have no timeline, not even a general one. You have to make your own, and constantly change it as you read. Keeps me on the edge anyway.

yes it is rather interesting that we have to make are own assumptions about major events. id just appreciate a series of events just to set my crazy theories in order

Indeed. He should clarify the timeline confusion for the benefit of his die-hard fan's crazy analysis and theories.

Seriously, I think he should...

But isn't baseless speculation as to the order of events so much more rewarding? ;)

- Abyss, uses that excuse to miss meetings.
