... or Merry Christmas!

What are you all doing for Christmas this year?

My mother's side of the family decided last minute that celebrating Christmas together was too risky, so now we're split up in groups.

As long as there'll be roast pork, potatoes and brown sauce I'll be happy.

Just had Xmas Eve dinner with the family plus Snotface and her latest boytoy, 'twas good. Snotface is crashing here tonight and will go to lunch tomorrow at her boys parents' place after tomorrow morning's present-opening frenzy with her nine year old brother.

Tomorrow is lunch at my mums' place, and Boxing Day is the start of (hopefully) five glorious days of English humiliation ie the cricket. :D

GETTING VERY DRUNK

There's not a tradition for getting drunk around family events in my family. I really wish it did.

Hanging at the in laws for a few days. Lots of beer, wine, mince pies, white chocolate covered pretzels, and beef and Yorkshire puddings for dinner tomorrow.

I lucked out and my in laws are pretty awesome, so it’s a pretty fun chill few days.

And the weathers amazing so we’re sitting in the yard playing games.
I've always been crazy but its kept me from going insane.

That just means your family is so wholesome that the tradition never developed naturally.

Oh half my family were alcoholics a generation ago. They used to hold tons of parties with moonshine and what not.

Then at some point they all went straight. I miss the old days when responsible drinking was making sure you didn't go blind.

With my family this year after it got aborted last year. I'm looking forward to it although I think it will be a little full on for the toddler.

Heading ove3r to visit my Mom. Unlikely any other family will stop by while I am there.

Work is closed through New Years though, so looking forward to a relaxing break.

Staying up at my parents. My son is three and this is the first time he's been truly excited by it all. So it's a lovely atmosphere of happiness up here! Going to eat and drink lots and relax wonderfully before the twins get here

Non-beliefs too?😁

Got the in-laws over for the weekend, with their ra... chihuahua. Lots of booze in the house so hopefully i will pull through.
Yesterday, upon the stair, I saw a man who wasn't there. He wasn't there again today. Oh, how I wish he'd go away.

We massively overcooked the Christmas Eve hype for our son last night. It all started well but the end result after putting him to bed was him terribly upset because he couldn't get to sleep and thought Santa wouldn't come. He was awake until 11.30 and the only way he would sleep was in bed with me. So I have had zero sleep and missed one of my favourite bits of Christmas creeping around putting the presents out.

But he's happy as larry this morning while I feel like I've been tortured. I have crept away for a power nap in the vague hope it helps me get through the day but now I can't get to sleep either!

Made it through. Had a few near misses with various parts of the dinner in my sleep deprived state. Now counting down the moments until I can turn in.

Merry Christmas everyone.

Merry Christmas you lot!

Been a crazy one but so far we’ve made it work. Kids are both over the moon and totally unruly as well. To be expected. Going to continue to enjoy my week+ off with my lovely family.

Wifey got me Fall of the Argosi, latest in the Seb de Castel spell slinger series. We had been at a book shop in November and she saw me pick it up and put it back down a few times.
