For something like the Quebec meeup, which has been and gone, I would agree, there's no point. But this is useful because it shows the forum geographic demographic (teehee:D) Just because it's not being posted in, doesn't mean it's not being used:)

I think if someone has a burning desire to see where in quebec forum members are, they can find the old thread easily enough.

Yes, but if it's inactive for long enough (and this one is, occasionally) then it gets deleted. Which kinda ruins the idea. As soon as something drops off the second page here, it virtually never re-emerges.

Which goes back to my point that if something drops past the second page, it probably deserves to die. PLus, if there weren't so many stickied threads, much more would fit on the first two pages, and threads would stay around longer before being pushed off.

If you don't go by New Posts.
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

You're not getting the "no posts doesn't necessarily equal no use" bit, are you...

Well, I've added myself. So far only two of us in Quebec and only 11 in all of Canada. More to come I hope.

I was torn to put in my birth place or Cork in Ireland, or where I'm staying Australia at the moment.

Brisbane won out.

I'm alll alone in my place. That's because distribution of SE's stuff is very spotty here in Asia. Plus, not everyone reads english books. :)

I am henceforth added, and no one is allowed to be in the same spot as me!

I kinda love it when D'rek unleashes her nerd wrath, as I knew she would here. Sorry innocent bystanders, but someone's gotta be the kindling.

Now, I may have mentioned it before, but for the malazan on a budget, travel is not exactly well funded. Regional meetups are cool and all, but perhaps there should be a major gathering (perhaps stateside for my sake :p) for maximum attendance. Stateside. Where I can dome. In the States. Can I be more specific about this?

Of course just for me....
