Same here. I feel like there's not a lot of games I actually look forward to any longer but I'm pretty sure excited for Ragnarok.

I'm about two thirds through a replay of GOW 2018 right now. Just because I wanted to refresh the characters and their story.

Excluding 2018 GoW, I cannot remember the last time I was this excited for a game. I've booked the rest of the week off work when it's released. Also bought the PS5 headset for extra effect, needed one so it was the perfect excuse.

You would do well to remember that he is not 'Lucy'.

Review embargo lifted for Ragnarok.

94 average. Lots of 10/10s. I'm not even going to read the reviews. The headlines are enough.

Was it ever in doubt! But aye, same, avoiding reading or watching reviews, don't need to see what they have to say and I want to go in fresh as possible.

Just finished my replay of God of War 2018.

Just as good as I remembered. The ending sets up so many questions, that I'm looking forward to getting an answer to in a few days.

One thing I'm looking forward to seeing in the sequel is populated areas. Everything in the 2018 game is deserted or destroyed, you only see living humans once in the entire game. Hopefully you get to see a bit more of the civilizations of the nine realms. Especially Midgard.

Also hoping we get to see Asgard and Vanaheim this time around.

I was torn on a replay, I was worried it Ragnarok would be too similiar to the first game in many ways and would leave me burn out before I finsihed.

HZD and Horizon forbidden west for example.

Still such a a great game deserving of a replay at some point.

I've got it downloaded now waiting on release though think I'm going to resist playing it at 12am and wait till I'm fresh Wednesday morning to play.

Haha I've considered it but if I do I'll be up till 4am/5am and then the day will be a write-off after that! Otherwise I can get up early, get to the gym and then have the entire day to slay some fools. Rinse and repeat for the next 5 days of total freedom from responsibilities! Bliss!

Played 30 minutes or so this evening. Games good.

Coming straight off the first game, it doesn't feel like a big leap but more of close continuation. But I also notice a lot of improvements in the PS5 version.

GOW 2018 was pretty but everything in Ragnarok seems sharper, crisper and better illuminated. The animations are better and the combat is more chunky. The axe really bites into the enemies and severs body parts.

What do you think the chances are I can persuade my wife to let me buy this game + PS5 in this time of trying to cut costs?

Played another hour. Had some visitors come a knocking.

Spoiler

Some speculation based only on GOW 2018, no spoilers for Ragnarok.

You've got to do your part to keep the economy of Britain healthy. It would be unpatriotic to not spend your money frivolously.

PS5 + Ragnarok keeps you home, less eating out. If anything it saves you money in the long term.
