As if you could ever forget my splendid yet also humble grandeur~
Hello, soldiers, look at your mage, now back to me, now back at your mage, now back to me. Sadly, he isn’t me, but if he stopped being an unascended mortal and switched to Sole Spice, he could smell like he’s me. Look down, back up, where are you? You’re in a warren with the High Mage your cadre mage could smell like. What’s in your hand, back at me. I have it, it’s an acorn with two gates to that realm you love. Look again, the acorn is now otataral. Anything is possible when your mage smells like Sole Spice and not a Bole brother. I’m on a quorl.

622 stitches later and the emergency nurses won't either.

Apparently a "basting stitch, or tack."

Well, I can't comment about how long it's lasting, but from what I've heard it's quite the "leg I see".

Wife's surgery went successfully and she'll be discharged soon. But on the same day, her mum's dog, an 18 year old jack russell, collapsed with heart failure and had to be put to sleep.
I'll miss that little tart of a dog.

Damn dude, that's rough.
You're overdue for some good luck I'd say. Fingers crossed. Good to hear the surgery went well, so here's to a good recovery.

Well there's a giant eldritch floating pyramid approaching my location, and by my estimation it could never contain depressed dark elves with swords that devour souls or very hungry science dinosaurs, so maybe this is the stroke of luck I've been after.

Did you consider the possibility of aliens pretending to be an ancient Egyptian pantheon?

That could be interesting (the sexy aliens in Stargate) or very very bad (Kung Pow! Enter The Fist with... the French)

CREE
Adding to the bittersweet:
Wife's physio is going well and she'll likely be released into my care soon.
Sucks: one of my fillings has fucked it so I'm in at the dentist on Friday and probably getting a tooth yanked.

OK so wife is home! And, uh, I am rapidly finding a new respect for nurses and carers. Holy moly.
Her recovery is at least going well; in about five weeks, she'll be starting on a phased return to using her foot.

Definitely in parts! less so in others but I'll not go into the gory detail here.
Five more weeks and she'll start on a phased return to mobility with her foot (think it's gonna be an air boot).
