Anyone played any good longer boardgames recently? I'm trying Dune (2019 version) next weekened which I'm looking forward to. Not sure it's suited to forum play though. I'm still hoping to play twilight imperium in person one day!

I gave a spin to Glorantha: the Gods War (sort of Cthulu Wars, same designer). Over on BGG, it is also played as a forum game. Going to take my turn today.

Glorantha looks like it would be interesting. And don't worry everyone is slow to post these days

Nope, because Covid! And I could never get into online boardgames over stuff like tabletop simulator, it just doesn't feel alive enough (turn-based forum play like this is a different story, but haven't tried anything new on that front recently). I really want to try Inis when meetings start happening again.

Dune was delayed due to COVID but was a lot of fun. My fremen rightful victory was denied at the last when stilgar my most powerful leader turned out to be in the pay of the empire betraying me in a key battle.
It's great to play a boardgame in person again!

So…how’s everyone doing? I think our secret plan to stop IH from winning this game is working perfectly so far. Morgoth has tried a number of escape attempts so far, but none got very far, so it’s all good.

It's proving extremely effective I thought I'd have won or lost terribly by now!

Is this thing still going on? Who won? How has everyone been? So glad everything has more or less gone back to normal. I've been itching for some gaming but it looks like it's still going to be a while before anything new happens around here. Thought I'd drop in and do a drive by hi.
I don't know what I'm doing but it sounds good.

It's dead but I toooooootally won (don't look at the map or points to confirm this, just trust me)

I was in the lead on last post so I'm claiming this as another victory for me
I'd be up for another game of some sort if we get one going but don't have time to mod.
I am really enjoying gaming in the real world once more.

I am pretty sure the game imploded when my last turn finally showed my unstoppable plan to win.

And yeah, I found a gaming group here in Helsinki and playing several games a week live has been a blast.

Awesome. I need to find a local gaming group. Only ever gamed with my brothers and Vengy but as he lives in Chicago and one of my brothers in Israel all I ever get to do is the occasional family Catan game. Which is fun don't get me wrong. But my nephews haven't learned that it's okay to refuse trades with my local brother so it can get pretty obnoxious.
So what is holding this one up? Anything I can do to help move it to completion?
I don't know what I'm doing but it sounds good.

My local gaming group never came back after COVID (really because too many people moved away)

Morgoth got too busy to play anymore, basically. Blend got busy, too, but I think if Morgoth was back he'd be able to finish it up.

Does your wife play games with your group Tapper or is that a you thing? Does it impact your family life?
