This post is about him. Back in the day it was a post that named him explicitly for a short while, that was gone not long after thanks to the legal threats and harassment but references to it could still be found until recently. Then it was the same post with the name taken out then when the Ellis news broke she replaced it with this post.

That all the actual references and accusations got taken down makes it really hard to know if it's real, but if it is it's very, very unpretty reading. So I don't recommend Mieville to new people anymore. But, ya know, QT already owns the book.

It's actually worse than I remember it being- I think I might have read an earlier version of that update sooner after the Warren Ellis story broke in July and she's replaced it with this far more clear accusation in November.
I can't carry it for you, but I can carry you.

Lol, you guys are all absolute amateurs. Here's my list: https://www.libraryt...n=-1&sort=title

Total: 1,947

It's across 3 devices, which makes it difficult to get in a single list given the way I have my LibraryThing catalog set up. So the above link will have a number of duplicates (multiple copies through Humble Bundles, or individual books that also appear in omnibus editions, etc.) But I did some quick math and came up with the number above. This counts omnibuses as a single book, of course, but doesn't count comics or magazines. And 10 of them I've actually started, but never finished.

I did basically start my collection with the Baen Free Library (and CD images) but that accounts for only 228. And yes, most of these were purchased free or on sale.

May it not be that all wood grows so that it can be set ablaze, and that men and women are born to kindle fires?"

Regarding Dune other people here are much more nerdy about the books but as far as I recall, the first three books or the big brick version is self contained. Felt that way when I read it anyway.

Yeah first three only really, certainly avoid the ones his son wrote.

I personally love books 4-6, but anything beyond those is basically trash.

Salt-Man, you know the first step towards conquering your addiction is to admit that you've got a problem.

Hey, I won't deny it. I will say, however, that the amount of ebooks I purchase on a whim has really tapered off over the past couple of years. I've only bought 20 so far in 2021.

Okay, one two hour Teams meeting later, I finished editing my Amazon list of e-books. It's sorted by author's last name.

Get ready for 5 A4 pages of text aka list of death:

EDIT: Eh, that's not that bad when uploaded.

The trouble with buying all these books is I have no idea what the Hidden city is about. Perhaps one day I will read it. Perhaps.

That's just under 2/week. And the year is young.

Speaking of, saw this video of Umberto Eco walking through his personal library on Reddit today.

I am humbled.
