Supposedly the coming year is Nintendo's
Year of Zelda 35th anniversary celebration. Just like last year was the Year of Mario, which got hampered by the C-virus.
Speculation is that
Breath of the Wild 2 will come out during the fall. I suspect it's also likely we'll see some package similar to last years 3D Mario collection, just with Zelda. Most likely a
Ocarina of Time, Twilight Princess and Majora's Mask bundled in a physical copy and sold for a limited time.
I hope we at least see them porting the two Zelda remasters from the Wii U - Twilight and Wind Waker. Never played those two.
I'd love it if they'd port some of the handheld Zelda's to the Switch -
4 seasons, Spirit Tracks, etc.
There'll likely be some strange Online Zelda game as well.
Otherwise I'm looking forward to getting a PS5 and a gaming PC - It's sort of a stop gap for playing games in 2021.
Looking at the 2021 release schedule, there's a lot of great stuff in the pipeline:
https://en.wikipedia..._in_video_games
JANUARY
Hitman 3, which is actually a collection of all 3 games - which is cool because I only played halfway through the first one.
FEBRUARY
Outriders is coming out start february but I don't have much hope for that brown shooter. It looks so ... Uninspired.
Werewolf: The Apocalypse - It looks like it could be a descent hack and slash action game. Never heard about the Werewolf universe before the game was announced.
Super Mario 3D World - Really looking forward to this. A good Mario game is like pure heroin.
Overwatch 2 is coming out at the end of the month - I never got into the first Overwatch, it was a really fun team shooter but with out a campaign or an upgrade/reward progression system I just didn't feel any desire to play it more than a few time.
MARCH
There's a new
Harvest Moon coming out. Never played those games but I might want to look at it, if it's anything like Stardew Valley, which I believe SV is inspired by.
Returnal by House Marque is coming out in March. I hate the title but I think it looks cool
Disco Elyssium: Director's Cut - I really want to play this one. Supposedly it's the second coming of RPG games.
APRIL
Nier Replicant - I've been holding off playing Nier Automata before playing this. Hope it's good.
MAY
Deathloop by the Dishonored studio - Hope this is cool, it has a ton of style. Maybe it looks a bit too much like a reskinned Dishonored.
And then there's all the unscheduled stuff:
I'm really looking forward to seeing Warner Brother's new Batman (family) game,
Gotham Knights, and the
Hogwarts game - I think they look really promising.
Farcry 6 - I HATED Farcry 5 so I'm a bit weary of this title but I do love open world shooters.
Sony probably releases
Gran Turismo 7 and Horizon 2 this year. That'll be exciting.
Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart might be good. Really enjoyed the Remake based on the movie that came out a couple years ago.
If
Halo Infinite ever gets done I'd love to play that. When I get my hands on a new PC I plan on playing through the
Master Chief Collection and finishing off with Infinite.
I could see myself playing the
Mass Effect Trilogy re-masters but who has the time for a three RPGs sandwiched together?
Psychonauts 2 - Loved the first game. Few games can pull of humor and wimzy like Double Fine.
I'm too much of a pussy to play
Resident Evil Village but I'll watch the let's plays.
Maybe
Dying Light 2 comes out of development hell this year?
And if it comes out this year, I'll play the
Cyberpunk 2077 GOTY/finished cooking version when that comes out.
