So, Washington have picked a name - The Commanders. eh, not great, imo. I was hoping they would just stay as The Washington Football Team. For some reason that settled in with me as a pretty okay option.

A look at the kit/uniform -

The colors are fine, but are they going for a military feel with the logo? (seems to have a military patch / medal pinned on a uniform vibe). Not really vibing with that.

QAaron Rogangers broke up with his high profile, Hollywood gf (they were engaged). I believe she is the actress you played that Kitniss character in those Starving Games movies? Not sure though.

I guess we'll have a long off season where he trolls the media and secretly amuses himself while everyone guesses where he will end up next season.

No he wasn't dating Jennifer Lawrence. It was Shailene Woodley, who was in the Divergent movie series, among other things. Poor Aaron.

Oh snap! Russel Wilson coming to Denver! (woot woot).

On the real though, there were rumors that QAaron Rogangers was coming to Denver, but to be honest, I'll take Russel Wilson every day of the week and twice on Sundays over Rogers's discount double (don't) check my ego at to door.

I have to temper it somewhat though, because I've never been a fan of Wilson's size, but damn the dude can ball at the end of close games. Also, he'll be the best QB for the Broncos since Manning, so thumbs up BAYBEEEE!

Now Steelers just need to figure out their QB sitch!

Ugly win by the Steelers. The ballad of the lonely kicker. Mitch Trubisky aint going to cut it. I would go with the rookie, accept the growing pains, miss the playoffs (or best case wild card) and get him experience for next season.

Most disheartening about it though is TJ Watt suffered a torn pectoral muscle. So that's just dandy.

Note: going to change name of thread to "NFL Discussion." If you have objections let me know. Figured it would be more desirable then creating a new thread every season.

Classic Bears. D plays lights out. Offense does just enough.

But I’ll take it.

I hope the Atlanta Falcons don't suck this year. They blew a 16-point lead yesterday against the Saints. I hope the Falcons can smoothly transition from the age of Ryan/Jones/Ridley to the age of Mariota/Pitts/Patterson. Please go go go Falcons.

Not sure what the Broncos were thinking at the end there. It did help people forget that they fumbled at the goal line twice. End result, fans losing confidence in a new coach only after one game.

You're a Broncos fan? I couldn't remember who you liked. I've been away from the forum for a while.

What? I think we need a new thread every season.

This sucks, Thursday Night Football is exclusively on Amazon Prime? Are they going to at least share half the season with a regular broadcast network? Tonight's game is a good one too - Chargers vs Chiefs.

Steelers lose to Pats on their home field. Didn't see the game but only 1 td scored by the Steelers.... ooof, not going to cut it in today's league. Tomlin is a defense can win coach but nah, that mindset is not going to notch up wins in today's game. Please start the rookie next week. Just see what he can do at least.

Another unimpressive game or 2 by Trubisky and there'll be a full QB controversy in Pittsburgh...oh, you're ready for Kenny Pickett now?

Tampa Bay at New Orleans: I was prepared for a potential Bucs loss, the way N.O. has had their number since Brady took over. I was so irritated with how TB was playing in the first half, I went outside and did some work around the yard for a while. Apparently Brady was just as frustrated, he was pissed on the sideline. The Bucs had half the offense out with injury but that wasn't the only reason they looked like garbage; the Saints defense deserves credit. They almost completely stopped the Bucs running game. But I know 3 things about the Bucs: their defense is really good and Mike Evans HATES Marcus Lattimore and ABSOLUTLEY LOVES Tom Brady. That fight that broke out after Lattimore jawed at Brady and got Evans and Lattimore both ejected lit a fire under TB and they owned the rest of that game. That will be an important win, come the end of the season.

Yes, now. Trubisky has enough of a body of work in the NFL to know what he is. Let the rookie play.

Regarding Bucs, Brady looked gaunt and sickly in a earlier week interview. Problems with Giselle and their marriage, coupled with his age catching up with him? That in game fight did light a fire in him though and he threw some dimes following the ejections (take it easy on them MS Surface tablets there Tommy boy). Brady's career trajectory pisses me off. Years and years of guaranteed wins in the AFC East (Jets, Bills and Dolphins, all crap). Leaves, joins the Bucs, Bills now are super bowl contenders and Dolphins lighting up the scoreboard. Now by happenstance, or Giselle Brazilian witchcraft, no competition for Brady in the NFC South (Falcons, Saints and Panthers), they are all pretty crappy. Probably a guaranteed 6-0 in division record for the Bucs. Maybe lose to the Saints next time they play (Winston is crap though, so probably not). Pisses me off.

How 'bout the Dolphins though? I wonder if they will keep that up?

I was stunned at that Dolphins comeback, not to mention the Jets! There were more than a few Miami fans who were starting to voice doubts that Tua was their guy leading up to that game. Maybe not so much now...

Snagged him in our Malazan Fantasy league. I need someone for buy weeks and/or if Brady can't get his shit together.

Wow, the Dolphins take down Buffalo. Impressive. I'd like to know how Tua managed to stay in the game after all saw him quite wobbly on his legs after smacking the back of his head on the turf.

Colts take down KC. Also Impressive. And the Eagles look like they've taken a step forward from last season.

Bucs looking like garbage, letting GB have their way. Finally force a turnover to stop another score, start moving the ball at last and then give it back to GB on a fumble. Better find something for the 2nd half.
