Whilst looking up factions to decide what to play I came across this:
https://images-cdn.f...-compressed.pdf
Which contains the updates to basic tech and strategy cards we know of, but also updates to promissory notes and faction techs.
Are we playing with these updates?

The Codex stuff? If everyone else is okay with it, I'd be happy to use the updated promissory notes and tech cards. The idea is to make the awkward ones more useable - e.g. X-89 Bacterial Weapon was took multiple actions to use so it sucked, L1Z1X and Arborec PNs were so awful you'd never even consider giving them away, etc.
I think we'd best leave the extra action cards alone for now, though, so there's not too much new stuff to have to worry about. Unless everyone really wants to add them in.

I had already updated the techs and strategies in the reference post prior to the failed game, but I haven't included the new action cards. The first one wouldn't be useable in our games, but the rest look like fun! I'd be for using them, but it's up to yall!

I dont know much about the codex changes so if we do add changes as long as the reference thread is updated I'm good either way.
I don't know what I'm doing but it sounds good.

Sol and Winnu return again.
Hmm trying to decide on what to pick.
Tatts Abyz/Fria, we both have equal interest in it, how do you feel about splitting it?

I haven't thought anywhere near that far ahead but it's a option. Whoever gets there first gets Abyz? Moves out so no battle takes place and leaves Fria free. If Fria gets invaded then the deal is off? Fair

What’s Omega tech?
"Omega" stuff is official updated versions of original pieces, created by the actual game designers. It's meant to correct/bolster components that didn't end up working out the way the designers intended - usually not because the original versions was *wrong*, so much that it was clunky and awkward to use so players never use it.
For example, X-89 Bacterial Weapon was super clunky and awkward to use originally. The updated Omega version does the same thing (wipe out all infnatry on a planet) but is easier to actually use.
BEFORE:
ACTION: Exhaust this card and choose 1 planet in a system that contains 1 or more of your ships that have BOMBARDMENT; destroy all infantry on that planet
AFTER:
After 1 or more of your units use BOMBARDMENT against a planet, if at least 1 of your opponent's infantry was destroyed, destroy all of your opponent's infantry on that planet.
So far, the Omega collection includes:
STRATEGY CARDS:
Diplomacy - Omega version lets you ready any two planets with the primary, so that it's more like the secondary ability
GENERIC TECHS:
Magen Defense Grid - Made it apply to any structure (instead of just PDS) and it assigns 1 hit rather than making your opponent skip a roll (since ground combat so often has rolls where no one hits)
X-89 Bacterial Weapon - changed so you can use it in the same tactical action in which you invade a planet
FACTION TECHS:
Creuss Wormhole Generator - Used as an Action, instead of in the status phase
Yin Spinner - activates more easily and lets you place infantry anywhere you control; previously it was so limiting it wasn't worth spending the resources to research versus just spending those resources on infantry directly
Muaat Magmus reactor - This one is actually a total rework (doesn't matter for this game since they're banned anyway). Instead of gaining trade goods from using production next to supernovas, the omega version of this tech now lets you produce from supernovas directly (but you no longer get the trade goods)
PROMISSORY NOTES:
(Promissory Notes in particular the designer said went in a different direction than he intended. Because some original PNs were easy give-aways that cost the giving player almost nothing they became "a thing you have that you sell to people" but other factions had PNs that were more like "give away a crippling thing when you absolutely have to" and these couldn't be sold the former could. So the worst offenders got redone to be more of a "sellable thing" like the former.)
Letnev - removes the trade good cost for using it
Winnu - Lets the receiver do the Winnu's strategy card's secondary at no cost
Arborec - completely rewritten, as the original was totally crippling for Arborec. Now it's kind of like a Signal Jamming action card that you can use when someone attacks you.
Yin - Lets you use the Yin conversion ability in a battle against someone else.
L1z1x - Free now instead of costing the l1z1x player a CT.

Corneeq/Resculon similar deal to IH. One planet each? Whoever gets there first chooses, leaves the other free?
