I've been sneezing since December, largely due to the fact our weather can't make up it's damn mind, swinging from minus 5 to plus 3 every other day.
It was especially bad after swimming, coming back from the pool I'd send an entire evening sneezing violently.
No coughing though. Like, at all.
Given the only people I see regularly since I've started Woking from home are my parents and my mom's a frontline healthcare worker (so she's much more likely to expose me to it), I strongly doubt I need testing either.

Yea spring has started here, just about 30 days early. Green is everywhere, flowers are blooming, and my allergies are kicking in.
And every single time I sneeze or deal with post nasal drip, I think 'what if its corona'.
What a time to be alive.

Similarly, I've had problems with my sinuses since October, have pretty constant post nasal drip, bouts of sneezing and runny nose, and sinus headaches. I'm just going to have to base it on if symptoms change I guess!

family friend is in isolation, with her symptoms etc they're fairly convinced its covid19. No tests being done, becuase you know actually knowing how many people have this would look bad for BoJo and the Tories.

My niece and brother-in-law were denied tests as they are not considered to fit the categories (they do), and they are already self isolating.
This is why actual infection numbers are likely much higher than reported.

oh infection numbers are WAAAAAAAAYYYY over whats being reported.
short article on testing
the numbers were interesting for me, in a small town of about 3000, 3% tested positive, and were isolated. Lockdown occurred. a second round of testing found that several people were carrying and were completely symptom free. They would never have been isolated in our set up here, as they were not showing anything wrong with them at all.

A way to guess would likely be look at South Korea where they have done the most testing, which have about 1% mortality which is probably a bit high.
But if say the Swedish situation is more comparable where it is estemated that only 1/5 (which may still be optimistic) of the infected have been detected the death rate is less then 0.2%.
This give us about 100-500 infected per death, looking at most countries with several deaths, relation between confirmed cases and actual infected are is a factor between 2-10 but in some cases much more.

I've had a cough and on and off breathing difficulties since January, but that's simply a matter of being a 50 year old asthmatic who lives in the UK.
If an opinion contrary to your own makes you angry, that is a sign that you are subconsciously aware of having no good reason for thinking as you do. If some one maintains that two and two are five, or that Iceland is on the equator, you feel pity rather than anger, unless you know so little of arithmetic or geography that his opinion shakes your own contrary conviction. … So whenever you find yourself getting angry about a difference of opinion, be on your guard; you will probably find, on examination, that your belief is going beyond what the evidence warrants. My dad's a truck driver that goes to the US every other day (he left today).
They were saying at his work that sea traffic from harbours in Eastern seaboard of the US will get re-routed to Halifax if the border gets closed.

Rumours flying regards work for me. Possibly going to shut the whole place down to essential and security only. Sure I'll get a shit ton done about the apartment and workshop, but the money is always nice too

So they're closing schools in the UK at the end of week which means my son will be home while we try to work from home. I'm allowed to reduce my hours temporarily - the business are acting like they are doing me a favour but they clearly want the wage bill to go as far down as possible.
Questions - if I reduce my hours and the apocalypse ends but the economy is weak, they can't really guarantee they will put them back up can they?
Second question - a friend down the road is in the same situation. We want to share childcare. It will be good for the kids to have some interaction and good for us to have some space for work and mental health. If one family of 3 and one family of 4 isolate apart from sharing their children, does that really count as social distancing? I mean it's considerably better than the people doing nothing but is it still defeating the purpose? If everyone breaks the guidance a little bit then it is doomed, or is a tiny little bit ok?
Thinking out loud because my head is spinning tonight. It is just so bonkers right now.

Don't share childcare for a few days - as in a few days after the two sets of families have isolated. You want to make sure no symptoms pop up. And yes, a kid can totally spread it to you all.

Supplies in house going so fucking fast. Those 2 extra mouths weigh more then me and both my kids so I knew keeping them feed was going to be a nightmare. Most of my Hotpockets, Ramen, Mac n Cheese, crackers, bread, Dr Peppers are gone.
Really don’t want to restock at store with weak legs Incase I got to get bout it with someone in there.

The underlined part means he does not want to go shopping with sore legs just in case he has to fight someone who he has never met.
BK, aren't you getting a little too old to be getting bout it with them perpetrators....
On a serious note, it's not looking good at all out there right now.
