I guess a fairly accurate definition of a 'Forum OG' would be someone who was here discussing MBotF prior to the curtain rising on the series stealing relationship betwixt Tehol and Bugg.

Abyss, SM and Morgy were definitely here before me.
Yeah, I originally joined in 2002, but when we moved from infopop (? or something) all the join dates were pushed to 2003. Can't remember the details much, I was very young at the time.
In 2002 I was 16 and in highschool. Now, 18 years later I am a 33 year old lawyer with one divorce behind me. It is very very strange to have been here for so long.

2005 for me I think? Jeezus that's 15 years I've known some of you. Craziness.

I started lurking in 2006 after I read the first 6 books the summer between 1st and 2nd year of Uni. I joined shortly before RG came out, I think. I remember I pulled an all nighter to finish that right before 3rd year started.

I joined in 07 but I was a lurker for 6 months at least. The internet was a scary place then. I only really became a real member during the Rep war though.
How many fucking people do I have to hammer in order to get that across.

I'm a 34 year old lawyer with a dog and a partner in marriage - who knows only that there are very many Erikson/Esslemont/Malazan books that I like and have in my book stacks - who is not the partner I was with at the time of the Chicago meet-ups (we broke up in 2013).
This forum has tracked haphazardly my progression towards a better person. I like that and I think the books/original authors had something to do with that even though they're not directly involved + Hazel/Mal are out.
I survived the Permian and all I got was this t-shirt.

I can't remember if I brought my ex to the meet up in Chicago, but she did come to a couple in Cambridge. We got divorced in 2014. Strange how our lives mirror in some ways. I don't think I ever asked, what sort of law do you practice? And have you taken the bar? I had plans to do it at some point so that I could practice in the US, but the divorce changed all that.

I met her several times. A lovely stuffed teddy bear that he would call his girlfriend, and went everywhere with him. I wasn't surprised that they got married but was shocked to hear that they got divorced. But in hind sight the relationship was never going to work.

That was only slightly less awkward than his Waifu Pillow phase.

I think that Morgy put those overlarge foam hands on his waifu pillow and kept calling it 'Maccy'?
