Yeah there isn't much more people can do to affect there scores at this point, downside of this format of the game once it becomes a foregone conclusion.
I'm just stalling ending my go at this point in case someone comes up with something amazing I need to react to.
I was very pleased with my play this game, my yssaril win was I think more luck and people not knowing some of the subtleties of the game, mentak just felt so overwhelmingly powerful that winning was relatively straightforward. The Yin I didn't feel were a particularly good race, but I think I ended up in a really strong position coming up to the end through good play and have hopefully won.
I'm hoping to try a more proactive race next game, mentak, yssaril and yin have all fit with my relatively defensive playstyle, I really struggled with the more aggressive creuss. I suspect a few more people will be gunning for me next game after a third win too!

As Everra is my system. If I attack it do I get the extra plus one? Not sure how it works. I didn't realise it was my turn. I was waiting for everyone to do their leadership secondary.

Pft, the only reason you won as the Mentak is that twelve is a dirty Quisling.

He's wonderfully self interested and focused on winning, just like me, that's why he's such a great neighbour. I've spent most of the game balancing having no military, looking like I'm not going to win, and making attacking me seen marginally less attractive then going elsewhere so twelve didn't decide to backstab me.

What is a Quisling? And you are just salty because if I hadn't you would have won. I have yet to even be in the running for a victory yet. This game has been the closest which is a nice change from my usual low point totals.
I don't know what I'm doing but it sounds good.

A collaborator/traitor. It has been pretty close this game, people are getting more and more skilled.

As IH said. Quisling was a Norwegian politician and leader of our local facist party whom sold out to Hitler and became the leader of occupied Norway during The Second World War. His betrayal was such his very name became synonymous with traitor in several languages.
Which is what you are, twelve. A historic level traitor whom should be shunned by polite society.

At any rate, I agree, people are clearly becoming more skilled, which makes this very tense. I feel like I've been on the heels of your victories every time IH, but this time I'm one of many, which is pretty neat.

I am tapped out.
Just a question to the table?
Glad IH won again, are you happy you listened to him and put the new guy down from a win?
Being king slayed is part of the game. But I wonder if I really was the "king" to begin with.
So the same guy who won , wins again huraay..
This forum game was a nice experiment. But I doubt I will play again for a 9 player game .

I'm not happy that anyone other than me will win. IH got lucky that a part of his final point scoring remained secret for so long, whereas with you and D'rek we could see what you needed to do in order to win this round, so it was clear that both of you had to be stopped. Next time we will destroy IH just for the sake of destroying IH.
I'm sorry that you don't feel like playing again - I thought that you played a really good game overall and I enjoyed having you with us!

I don't really think you can describe what happened as kingmaking. Toaster and D'rek were in the strongest, most visible position to win, and so the others tried their best to prevent them from doing so. IH managed to keep his chances under the radar and so got to take advantage of the chaos to climb to the top. If that's kingmaking then every attack on another player is kingmaking in some fashion.

Yeah, I don't think there was any kingmaking going on, for me kingmaking is doing something which has no benefit to you but let's someone else win.
I don't think that has happened here, people have tried to stop others winning to try and gain more points in order to give themselves a chance to win/maximise points. I think everyone has been acting in there own self interest to try and maxmise there points.
A key part of this game is managing other players, anyone who looks like they are going to win immediately becomes a target, that isn't kingmaking that's an inbuilt gamebalancing mechanism. Any victories I've had have either come from a surprising path to victory that no-one expected, or by winning despite everyone on the board throwing everything they could at me. I'm not denying I contributed in directing attention away from me to you and d'rek though! Chaos is a ladder after all
I think you played well Toaster, and it's a shame you aren't playing again, you were very close to winning.
All that said I don't object to kingmaking, it's a viable tool in the diplomatic arsenal, for example some player I know if I screwed them over would go out of there way to make sure I didn't win, and is probably one of the better mechanisms to help keep players honest.
Given my past form though I'm surprised that more people didn't try and apply direct pressure to me to reduce my scoring options, I think D'rek and Twelve both guessed I had spark, but nothing really came of it.

All the wormholes were blocked, and pretty much all of the empty systems too, so I was stuck. It's never happened to me as the Creuss before.

Yeah for a faction all about mobility you were remarkably stationary.
I'm not sure what deal you made for your racial but toaster taking it and sitting on it all game really hurt your chances. Did you even get your second wormhole out?

Frankly I didnt figure you had spark until midway through the last round and I didnt care. My shot was as you all correctly guessed was the wormhole secret. My realistic chance at winning was blown up many times this game. First when D'rek prevented me scoring control the region and I was forced to score the pds secret. Then again when D'rek blew up my fleet with a miracle rolls of the die and then finally when Nom pds my cruiser to micro dust. Losing Rex earlier in the game was probably a blessing in disguise but I definitely felt behind the 8 ball most of the game.
I don't know what I'm doing but it sounds good.
