Interestingly they have released a patch for startegy cards and tech:
Here are the changes!

Original Version Diplomacy card primary: Choose 1 system other than the Mecatol Rex system that contains a planet you control; each other player places a command token from his reinforcements in the chosen system. Then, ready each exhausted planet you control in that system.

Revised Diplomacy card primary: Choose 1 system other than the Mecatol Rex system that contains a planet you control; each other player places a command token from their reinforcements in the chosen system. Then, ready up to 2 exhausted planets that you control.




Original version Magen Defense Grid: You may exhaust this card at the start of a round of ground combat on a planet that contains 1 or more of your units that have Planetary Shield; your opponent cannot make combat rolls this combat round

Magen Defense Grid (Omega): At the start of ground combat on a planet that contains 1 or more of your structures, you may produce 1 hit and assign it to 1 of your opponent's ground forces.




Original Version X-89 Bacterial Weapon: ACTION: Exhaust this card and choose 1 planet in a system that contains 1 or more of your ships that have BOMBARDMENT; destroy all infantry on that planet

X-89 Bacterial Weapon (Omega): After 1 or more of your units use bombardment against a planet, if at least 1 of your opponent's infantry was destroyed, destroy all of your opponent's infantry on that planet.

I definitely think we should start using these adjustments in any future games - I like them quite a bit.

Yeah sorry. Forgot that there was a secondary available for passed players. I'll delete and repost my post after Morgoth plays the Leadership secondary.
I don't know what I'm doing but it sounds good.

And as the Arborec no less. We really need to start using meta play to slow you and Morgoth down as it always seems to be you two always in the running to win.


I think the Arborec are great, especially if you're in a resource poor slize of the galaxy. I have also seen the ratings at bgg, but I wonder how representative they truly are.

A somewhat boring game for me this, my position and the objectives that turned up never gave me reason to do much attacking, and so I got stuck. Next game I'll go for something like the Norr or Muaat to force a different style I think.

No, me neither. I admit that after we exchanged Ceasefires I basically ignored anything he was doing - 'someone else's problem now.' I probably played the least aggressive Letnev ever, but that was in large part owing to being sandwiched between the Yin and Creuss, the two races best suited to taking my fleets down. I picked my starting slice with the hope of nabbing Naalu or maybe L1Z1X, but it was not to be. Maybe I should have picked Yin myself!

I'm thinking that some SOs we cannot prevent but some we can and IH has asked Tapper not to attack him, and said he's worried he may not achieve it so we as a collective must be able to affect it. Narrowing that down may be to our interest. Like the 3 ships in Mec rex, only have to destroy 4 out of 6 to stop that one.

I have that one (hence me trying to take MR). These are the ones I have/have completed:

Assemble a Strike Force -- 1VP -- Status Phase -- Have 8 destroyers and/or cruisers on the game board.
Fulfill the Prophecy of Ixth -- Have 14 fighters on the game board.
Occupy the Seat of the Empire -- 1VP -- Control Mecatol Rex and have 3 or more ships in its system.

So I think these are the SOs which are left:

Accumulate Leverage -- 1VP -- Status Phase -- Own 10 Promissory Notes.
Become the Gatekeeper -- 1VP -- Status Phase -- Have 1 or more ships in a system that contains an alpha wormhole and 1 or more ships in a system that contains a beta wormhole.
Charge Through Their Defenses -- 1VP -- Action Phase -- Successfully invade a planet that has 2 PDSs.
Conscript the Populace -- 1VP -- Status Phase -- Have 18 infantry on the game board.
Destroy Their Greatest Ship -- 1VP -- Action Phase -- Destroy another player's war sun or flagship.
Diversify Negotiatons -- 1VP -- Status Phase -- Own at least 1 Promissory Note from every player, including yourself.
Fuel the War Machine -- 1VP -- Status Phase -- Have 3 space docks on the game board.
Make an Example of their World -- 1VP -- Action Phase -- Use Bombardment to destroy the last of a player's ground forces on a planet.
Master the Laws of Physics -- 1VP -- Status Phase -- Own 4 technologies of the same color.
Mine Rare Metals -- 1VP -- Status Phase -- Control 4 hazardous planets.
Tear Apart their Fighter Squadrons -- 1VP -- Action Phase -- Use Anti-Fighter Barrage to destroy 3 of a player's fighters in a single space battle.
Threaten Enemies -- 1VP -- Status Phase -- Have 1 or more ships in a system that is adjacent to another player's home system.
Turn Their Fleets to Dust -- 1VP -- Action Phase -- Use Space Cannon to destroy the last of a player's ships in a system.
Unveil Flagship -- 1VP -- Action Phase -- Win a space combat in a system that contains your flagship. You cannot score this objetive if your flagship is destroyed in the combat.


I think he's looking to claim it in status phase, so we can discount the action phase ones. Then some of the status ones which I think he can't or is not currently fulfilling:

Accumulate Leverage -- 1VP -- Status Phase -- Own 10 Promissory Notes.

Which leaves:

Conscript the Populace -- 1VP -- Status Phase -- Have 18 infantry on the game board. <-- Fulfilled this twice over currently.
Fuel the War Machine -- 1VP -- Status Phase -- Have 3 space docks on the game board.

So if it's Conscript, there's probably little that can be done about it. Getting rid of a space dock is marginally more feasible.

Yes, he took over D'rek's space dock on MR to make it three (actually, did he destroy one in order to make room for it? Could have had three already).
