Alright, according to the TI4 wiki, the proper wording for Research Team agendas is as follows:

Quote

When this planet's owner researches technology they may exhaust this card to ignore a [COLOR] prerequisite.

So the Research Team is attached to the planet, but it's the agenda that gets exhausted rather than the planet, so the pre-requisite doesn't count towards the VPs.

This ONLY affects the Research Team agendas, from what I can see. I'm going through and updating the wording in my files accordingly.

I've reviewed all of the agendas against the Wiki and it looks like the Research Team agendas were the only ones that had incorrect wording in our list.

As a side note, I believe we have been playing the research team agendas wrong:

https://www.reddit.c...am_cybernetics/

The text reads exhaust this card, not this planet, which means a) you can only use this once and B) you do not need the planet to be unexhausted.

Might impact twelves recent turn (if only by saving him a TG)

Huh, what motivated you to research this now?

Yeah, that does seem very different to how we've been playing it. I'm not sure if that means the card is exhausted forever, or if you can only play it once a round (like Null Field, Transit Diodes, etc.) It does confuse me, however, because the agendas talk about electing a planet, so why would they not be associated directly with that planet when using them?

I was looking at all the agendas and noticed the wording was different a few days ago, so I looked into it when I saw twelves move.

And ah I didn't realise cards got refreshed as well. That does make the research team agendas quite a bit better!

Yeah, I am looking into it a little closer.

Our list of cards note that you can exhaust the planet to get an extra pre-requisite. That pretty clearly means the planet.

Nom gets the 2 points on Daemon from Core Mining, so that's different altogether.

Oh duh, sorry, mixed the two agendas up!

No kidding - it means that a planet that already has a pre-requisite getting elected means there are now two pre-requisites that would both be useable! Very interesting indeed!

Are we playing with the 'new' rule or the old one for this game?

Well it's only been used once, and not incorrectly.

New rule as it's the correct rule.

Yeah, technically you could have exhausted Nevant for 1 Resources (instead of having to spend a TG) and the Research Team for your red-prerequisite. You can go ahead and update your post if you'd like!

Huh, that's very interesting re: the Research Team agendas...

Found this:

Quote

Research teams exhaust themselves, and NOT the planet they are attached to. This also means that the planet is not a tech specialty planet, and hence doesn't matter for Objectives that look for such traits. When you take control of the planet with a research team, the planet is exhausted, but the team is not.

I think I will add a note somewhere in the reference thread with the above quote. Lots of interesting information!

So does this mean I get my trade good back?
I don't know what I'm doing but it sounds good.

Can someone explain how Non Ecl Shield works?

In a battle Letnev take 3 hits. They assign damage to 2 fighters and a dread sustains damage.

Does the dread stay healthy and 1 of the 2 fighters live?

So I should probably list this in the other section then and not have it associated with the planet..?

Yeah, I think you should put the card in the "Other" section.

D'rek's turn, then Morgoth.

@D'rek are you going to activate Silvano this round? If so this turn would be good.

Essentially the player taking the hits (in this case the Letnev player) would assign 2 hits to his Dreadnaught, then sustain damage to cancel both those hits. Third hit would then be assigned to whoever else he wants to assign it to.

I am going to activate it this round, but not this turn.

I kinda love it when D'rek unleashes her nerd wrath, as I knew she would here. Sorry innocent bystanders, but someone's gotta be the kindling.
