Me and some other friends are playing it.

I know this game is starting to drag now, I thought everyone being stuck at home due to COVID would increase activity!

I know, right. I guess the "physically available" time is outweighed by having a lot more to think about. Less to do, but more things to think and people to talk to sorta thing?

I kinda love it when D'rek unleashes her nerd wrath, as I knew she would here. Sorry innocent bystanders, but someone's gotta be the kindling.

I feel more busy not begging in work. I'm home schooling my 4 year old, sticking to a time table and I'm exhausted by night time. I'll watch a program or two then read in bed. So I'm checking here often but not posting much.

Morgoth being off with Mrs Morgoth just reeks of a full time orgy to be honest. No time for air and lots of aching fingers....

This. I share my work time with the mrs, one of us taking half the day to work, the other takes care of our toddler, who we don't want to give screen time.

When at work, it seems everyone wants to show how well they're doing working from home by scheduling as many calls, video conferences and exchanges as possible.

Out of the six hours of work I schedule daily (I work the nap time + afternoon), four plus are usually talks of some kind. What little isn't fragmented in between I spend on doing actual work. The evening is taken up by more work in order to catch up with email and be able to make deadlines.

What little time there is after that, I spend mostly non-digital with the wife.

Interesting, my girlfriend is of the opinion that the lockdown has demonstrated how many of the meetings at her work are entirely unnecessary and pointless, as they’ve been now cut down and yet everything is still functioning.

From my own experience, my work doubled over the last three weeks, mainly due to teaching in new ways. I’ve actually enjoyed the experience of trying new things, like recording and editing lectures, but it does take time. I’ve tried to mix things up with the online seminars, like taking them on a virtual field trip to a medieval cathedral using various sites and resources (actually, most of my seminars have been based around the principle of leaving the house without leaving the house, now that I think about it!). But that again takes extra time to plan and execute, because it was not my original lesson plan. And not everyone is comfortable with online learning (we’re seeing around 50% attendance, some of those are students who can’t be bothered, but others are anxious about being online, even if there is no camera on them). So I’ve also been creating seminar discussion presentations and posting those online a few days after the seminars, which again takes time.

All that having been said, teaching is now over so a lot more free time (other than marking essays of course)! I think I’m supposed to be writing an article or something...wait, maybe it was a book? Do they still expect me to do that?

My family is in quarantine and we're working on a new fence and drainage so I spend my time digging and doing misc stuff around the garden and running errands and shopping in town, all the essential buildings of which are located something shy of 3 km downhill from where our house is and I'm currently without driver's license so have to walk there about every other day to pick up bagful worth of stuff to then carry back up, today had to add 2 shovels cause we've broken all of the still semifunctioning ones we had

Regarding school my regular regime was already close enough to distance learning so I've been failing miserably at that, tho I'd totally take one of your lectures if I could Khell. Always wished I had better memory for history, or any at all, I'm still unsure whether ww2 ended 44 or 45...

At least I save on weed while parents are home

I guess dependants make the difference, I live alone and am pretty much still working as normal so I have plenty of free time these days.

*goes back to waiting for morgoth*

Hope he's okay!

He does this from time to time. Very annoying. But with the new normal I hope he's not sick.
I don't know what I'm doing but it sounds good.

I'm imagining he's got busy/had difficulty with the internet, he's not logged onto the forum.

I've dropped him a message on facebook in case he's checked that, so hopefully will return soon.

Morgoth is alive and well, but extremely busy. Who knew contract law was a vital part of the apocalypse. I've reminded him about the game, so hopefully he will pop in soon.

Right, sorry you lot. My girlfriend is an essential worker, and the University is deeply involved in the whole covid thing, so I've been working some serious overtime. With that and the whole situation the forum and the game fell by the wayside. By the time we've been able to sit down we've basically just fallen asleep on the couch.

Still, sorry for keeping up the game. I had plans, but I can't keep track of them, so instead I'll simply pass.

Turns out it's very stressful inventing contracts to ensure a functional distribution of liability in corona related projects.
