Finished the book last week and was a bit underwhelmed. Sorry
Too many conveniently vague things floating around for my liking (and not the GotM kind of vague - which I loved). For starters, what are Harrow's powers? Pal's? What can they do? How can they do those things? Lots of seemingly made-up words thrown in when the two talk. I think I came across psychometry once. Too much of a seat-of-the-pants vibe for me.
Found the world dreary and that's coming from someone who is marching bravely on to Horus Heresy book 50 next.
Gideon's final fight with the million-tentacled thingy was ... cool, I suppose, but not something I could
buy at any level.
Didn't hate the book but thought it was over-hyped.
