I pretty much echo what's been said. First 2 (especially the 2nd) series of these have been pretty forgettable but this has been great. I agree with retiredbridgeburner upthread that it essentially stalled for 2 of the more recent episodes but even that was still better than previous years. The best bit so far has been Data giving Spot to Lore. Absolutely cutting onions I was....

I'm looking forward to the finale but can't help but feel if they did this for the first season, introduce Jack and more of the old gang and see where that goes. Then explore the Borg/synthetic life and have the finale of that say good bye to the main cast member who goes (for real this time) and then maybe just bench season 2. But this nostalgia fuelled ride is what it should have always been.

If the Legacy spin off Matalas has spoken about ever gets a green light, that would be incredible. Perhaps the overwhelmingly positive response to this third series by comparison to the other two might help convince Paramount to let him do it. Here's to hoping!

I will also accept character deaths that do not include Spot.

Super jealous of those who get it on a Thursday (it airs Friday here in the UK) - may we all have bulk bought enough tissues and enjoy the ride!

S2 would have been a STELLAR 2-part TNG episode....but as a 10 episode series it drags a A LOT, and only the Q & Picard stuff is worthy.

Skipping it to watch S3 instead won't miss you out on much.

My friend watched the finale EARLY this morning (he mucked up his foot and could not sleep, so he had to do something) and he said the same. Also, there is an important mid-credits scene (LEGACY?!?!?!?!?!)

As predicted, it left itself with a bit too much to do and I would have loved to see the three episode long version of this one episode, with a bit more time to explore. Having said that, I can't honestly say I care too much. It was great fun and really rounded off a great series. Does it basically delete all the events of series two out of existence? Sure, but I think that's the change in showrunner (reminds me of the story change in the last Star Wars trilogy). I get the same feeling of them not being entirely sure what the overarcing point of Picard was, or if there really was one.

Cried a few times, though I think the biggest moment was when Seven listens to her officer review from Captain Shaw - I'm genuinely sad we won't get more of him (or will we? Matalas has said a few times he envisaged his Legacy story with Shaw involved). I'm thrilled for Captain Seven of the Enterprise.

Loved that it ended on the poker table, just like TNG and with the iconic theme tune playing.

I wanted to love the mid-credits scene, truly.... but the death of Q was one of the few sequences I really enjoyed from the second series, so it feels like thats now been completely undercut. On the other hand though, John de Lancie is a treasure and I'll never say no to more of him.

No Janeway though, sadly. It makes me wonder if they had intended for Kate Mulgrew to cameo and they just couldn't make it work in the end, as they certainly name dropped her more than is necessary. Perhaps we got Tuvok instead of her?

Overall, I'll probably give the first series another watch at some point, absolutely won't bother with the second (and I wouldn't have even before this series basically rendered it inert) and I'll watch this last series over and over just like TNG.

Yep, same, and I REALLY did think we were about to lose Picard, Riker, Worf AND Jack in that one scene so they sold that threat to them well....but I was SO CHUFFED when Data slid the Enterprise D into the space above where they were like it was fucking Kanada's motorcycle slide from AKIRA...ask my wife, I CHEERED with the tears still streaming down my face. LOL. LOVE that the way they found them was Troi's connection to Riker through their bond and her abilities. Clean and lovely.

Also, Data pleading with them to trust his "gut"....there were SO many times on TNG where Geordi eplained "gut feelings" to Data and he never sort of got it....so for "more human" Data to not only get it, but nail a damned near impossible mission? Sheer brilliance.

To be fair, with the way the Q operate in existence....this could be some timey-wimey "earlier in his timeline" stuff he does before he visits Jean-Luc in S2 saying he's dying, you know? And Q and Picard still got their moment in S2 so I'm happy.

I feel like Janeway is (through Seven) uniquely set up to cameo on LEGACY instead, and they probably didn't want to overstuff the finale? Disappointed, but since we know how tight she is with Seven, I expect to see her in future. Mulgrew does work on PRODIGY as Janeway, so she's around for sure.

While I found things to like about S1 and S2...S3 is likely the only one I'll re-watch, but I will add it in at the end of ANY TNG re-watch now as the canon sequel.

I LOVE rebranding the Titan as the Enterprise G...this was obviously done for money reasons behind the scenes....and I love Seven getting to be her Captain EVEN more, and I'm so glad the crew members that I expected to be on her, are on her (Seven, Raffi, Jack, Sydney ect.) as I feel like they will make a GREAT crew for the next show to follow!

I can't remember how to do spoiler tags but I pretty much agree with the above. Was maybe expecting a bit more in terms of finality with some things but on the whole really enjoyed the series. It's so annoying this wasn't series one with the subsequent events being 2 and 3, especially with the mid credit sequence.

In any case a good send off.

I am too tight to pay for yet another streaming service but QTs ringing endorsement of brave new worlds is weakening my resolve, you silver fox.

I'm glad Picard is over in some ways and the ending essentially leaves it null and void in comparison to the pre movie ending of TNG but again the theme of that is Picard has a family.

I can't remember season 1 but season 2 I would actively avoid watching.

EDIT- the bit with the description of the ensign feeding his cat causing tears did cause some onions to be cut when I was watching.....

I had to watch it twice for everything to sink in. It’s a good end for tng, but I’m still having a hard time saying goodbye. Wood love to see more of Riker and Worf in spin-offs.

I just binge watched the last four episodes on Sunday, and I loved the whole 3 hours! I basically want to concur with everyone else on here, I think that was the perfect send-off for the TNG crew (equivalent to Undiscovered Coutnry for TOS). I grew up watching TNG with my mom, so it was great to be able to nerd out about it with her as we both loved it. All of the fan service moments in the season seemed well earned and fit the plot, I know Matalas put them there because he's a TNG nerd, but it worked. I loved how they got Data back, and their return to their ship


I thought Season 1 was okay, an interesting story. I stopped watching Season 2 halfway through. But this season was amazing.

I really hope ST: Legacy gets approved. Given how great recent Trek has been (this and Strange New Worlds), I hope Paramount has now learned how to do Trek.

I finished Lower Decks this week - thoroughly enjoyed it!

A few episodes into Prodigy now, enjoying that too as just a light watch. Hologram Janeway being Peak Janeway from the off is excellent.
