Hello friends, I hope you're all having a peaceful day.

It's pretty late here; my sleep schedule is off (which i will have to rectify if I will get anything done), and sitting here in front of my computer it hit me it's almost been 10 years since I was active in this place - and in truth I've missed you. Nostalgia often warps the memories ever so slightly, but I dare say it's a good thing more often than not.

If anyone that was here back when, and remembers me, please don't be shy, come say hi.

SO. What has been happening here since I left? Did Abyss finally end everything in a *snap* ? :) Did the MAFIA players finally all go mad and unleash the Beast of Oblivion on the forum, causing all kinds of interdimensional bleeding where half the stars suddenly were gone?

Post 5 things you remember happening that was somewhat important on this forum (but most likely nowhere else).

Anyway, if nothing else, and nobody bites, I'll be lurking in the MAFIA forums.

Salutations from the one and only ;)

Long time no see, Gem.

Nothing much has changed. Silencer has taken over as owner of the site from Hetan. The offtopic forums remain active if very static. People continue to have worse movie taste than I do. Malaclypse went nuts. Well, nuttier.

Hiya Gem, long time no see!

Everyone who played mafia got jobs and kids and taxes and lawns to mow and pets to distract them from the crippling void of despair and mafia essentially died. The hot new forum pasttime is play-by-forum board games while we slowly wait for our grandchildren to visit us.

Well met, Apt. I need to refresh my memory regarding certain personages, so forgive me if I don't remember everyone right away. I remember names, but have vague recollections of who was who and what and when, some more than others. I do remember people were always a bit nutty around here - there's something in the water that makes you a bit crazy, unless you can handle it. I'm happy the forum is still active - most message boards like these seems to have disappeared or have become like the undead on the internet. Is this place more or less active?

I didn't even know Hetan had taken over - I don't think she owned it back when I left. How did that happen? Doesn't matter.

@D'rek Yes, time visits us all, in the halls of change. I do miss mafia, like a lot. I wonder what these board games are that you speak of. :apt2:

Whaaat, no way, you were definitely still around - or at least dropping in for visits semi-frequently - after Hetan & Mal took over from Anomander. Now they live in/run a lovely bed and breakfast in British Columbia.

Well I remember her being a mod at least - maybe I wasn't following that kind of information back then, I wasn't as active as you say. Lovely to hear they're doing good though.

Hey long time.

Yeah unfortunately Mafia has ran into gown life as Drek says. Silencer runs things. You missed our 100th game with was a smorgasbord board of everything that had gone before. Everything is very close to the same as it was before. Just a little quieter and less frantic.
How many fucking people do I have to hammer in order to get that across.

Welcome back Gem!

You being away for ten years has suddenly highlighted that I have been here this long...

Good to see you back, hope life is good.
So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

Thank you! Actually it's not been quite 10 years yet, but close enough. Life is indeed good - been through some crazy stuff, but came out on the other side, which I'm grateful for. Hope you're good too.

Thanks, and...thanks...I think. :p As much fun as I had at times, I was very confused back then.

We could probably run a game or two - it just would need some planning and scheduling, as casual playing wouldn't be possible. But then, the poor game would have so much pressure to be good. I have the same problem everyone else has - time isn't in abundance as it once was. Maybe reminiscing will have to be enough for now.

Thank you for the welcome - and may the spirit of Old mafia imbue the forums once again.

Yes, trying doesn't hurt, other than your feelings, or a toe when you stub it on a door.
