Sadly not.
So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

Just watched episode four.

I don't care at all about this series any longer. I don't care who sits on the iron throne. I don't care who lives or dies. The dialogue and writing in general is awful. The plotholes and time travel are awful. The complete lack of basic military strategy is awful. The CGI is bad.

What the hell happened to HBOs golden cow?

I suppose that they, like GRRM, just stopped caring (you can infer GRMM's lack of love for his own series in ADWD).

I'm with you on this one Apt, it's like they just wanted to get it finished so they can wash their hands of it. This season is absolute turd.

I don't think they stopped caring. But perhaps they have changed what they care about. Where once the priority/core of the series was hooking and immersing the audience into a finely crafted world, the priority and core now is about audience "satisfaction" - delivering what they think the people want, aka big flashy heroic climaxes for the most popular characters, maximum "cheer" moments, and as many callbacks to earlier episodes as they can fit into the script.

Just stay true to the story and believe people will actually enjoy it for what it is. Don't true and change for the masses. Two episodes, hopefully they'll be good.

Lots of rumours about multiple dragons in the next episode, where the hell did they come from?

Daenarys travels a thousand miles to mount valariya, ressurects a bunch of dragons, travels back all in the span of a day because dragons fly at mach 5.

Just fan theories that when Drogon disappeared at the end of season 4 he disappeared to have some babies.

Euron in the trailer, when he is looking up at the sky, his face isn't of glee, it's of worry. One dragon wouldn't do that, so how many do we think will be there? 20?

Maybe Dany's just majorly pissed and unlike last ep, this time she isn't going to flinch when they face each other..

But i do love the multiple-dragons theory.

But what's in it for the dragon's if the multiple ones are currently living somewhere in relative peace?

Alternatively, there is still the prophecy about Azor Ahai: "When the red star bleeds and the darkness gathers, Azor Ahai shall be born again amidst smoke and salt to wake dragons out of stone."

That last bit I always took to mean that someone will manage to 'awaken' the stone dragon statues on Dragonstone. You know, like they did in Hobb's Farseer trilogy. GRRM stole the whole wolf warging from her, so why not that as well?

Maybe Jon or Arya went on a detour via Dragonstone on a suggestion of Bran. surely a more plausible theory than Drogon somehow asexually birthing a whole nest of dragonlings....

Yesterday, upon the stair, I saw a man who wasn't there. He wasn't there again today. Oh, how I wish he'd go away.

They showed some nice images of Dragonstone in the previews... though I may lol if the 'wake dragons from stone' prophecy ends up referring to the Dragonstone dragons.

'The Cannibal was a wild dragon that lived on Dragonstone during the Dance of the Dragons. He was called Cannibal by the smallfolk of Dragonstone because he would practice cannibalism, feasting on dead or newborn dragons and dragon eggs.[1] He was one of three completely wild dragons dwelling on Dragonstone, the others being Sheepstealer and Grey Ghost.

[...] The Cannibal survived the Dance of the Dragons, only to mysteriously vanish after the war.'

https://awoiaf.weste...nnibal_(dragon)

[...] A bastard girl named Nettles finally tamed Sheepstealer by feeding him a sheep every morning. Along with Rhaenyra Targaryen's other dragonriders, Nettles and Sheepstealer took part in the Battle of the Gullet and the rapid capture of King's Landing. [...] The dragon and its rider were last seen flying over the Bay of Crabs.'

https://awoiaf.weste...hp/Sheepstealer

'Grand Maester Benifer believed that far away from Dragonstone, dragon eggs might not hatch. Some dragon eggs, also on Dragonstone, do not hatch, but instead turn to stone.' Presumably there are still many dragon eggs at Dragonstone?...

https://awoiaf.weste....php/Dragon_egg

[Edit: 'According to Lord Mace Tyrell, his son Ser Loras Tyrell and his men searched every inch of Dragonstone, but did not find any sign of the fabled hoard of dragon eggs. Lord Regent Kevan Lannister privately doubts Mace's protestations.' Don't remember if there's any mention in the show... of course good writing would have substantively foreshadowed this, but the writing has been awful and illogical anyway this season....]

It would be kind of lame to ex machina a bunch of dragons just in time for a nice second last episode but too late to make the battle of winterfell far simpler.

Visually cool, but in line with their habit of too convenient story telling of late.

But having checked the preview it does seem like the implication of the ominous look to the clouds with no dragon seen and then the alarmed look.

I suppose you could also get multiple dragons if somehow Dany's death resurrects Rhaegal, what with death paying for life and all. You'd only really need 2 dragons to cause that look, if he already pointed the fleet at one and the other then flanked them.
Tatts early in SH game: Hmm, so if I'm liberal I should have voted Nein to make sure I'm president? I'm not that selfish

Tatts later in SAME game: I'm going to be a corrupt official. I have turned from my liberal ways, and now will vote against the pesky liberals. Viva la Fascism.
When Venge's turn comes, he will get a yes from Mess, Dolmen, Nevyn and Venge but a no from the 3 fascists and me. **** with my Government, and i'll **** with yours

How about this ending:

Euron blasts Dragonstone with super-scorpions (powered by the kraken tentacle suction cups clearly visible on them in episode 4), killing Daenerys and Jon---'salt and smoke' plus plenty of kings' blood... Cannibal, Sheepstealer, and the eggs form the Westerosi equivalent of the Berenstain Bears (harbingers of the 'dark timeline' apocalypse), the Dragonstone Dragons:

https://www.seventee...spiracy-theory/

They destroy human civilization. (That's why they didn't have enough CGI budget left over for Jon to pet Ghost. Also, the Jon actor sucks at mime.) The end.

[Edit: no doubt that's why this episode coincides with the release of Godzilla vs Ghidorah....]

I've just finished Fire and Blood and this had occurred to me as well - Grey Ghost is definitely dead (think he went out when he and Sunfyre threw down?) but the other two are at the very least "unaccounted for" at the end of the Dance of the Dragons.

Without the night king to stop him a day that never ends begins. The planet gets hotter and hotter and everyone dies!

Nope I'm pretty sure their is a battle. Cersei dies. Euron dies. The people of westeros call Danny a foreign usurper they don't know. She decides to burn down Kingslanding. Jon kills her. Sansa kills him, Arya crying kills Sansa. Gendry kills Arya. The hound says fuck this and kills Gendry and introduces democracy.
