Varys of all people going on about how Daenerys and J(aeg)on can't get married because they're aunt / nephew is so fucking stupid, except from a 'casual "Western" TV show watcher who knows nothing of history' perspective.
Several moments I initially thought must be dream sequences... bad dream sequences. Face-palm garbage fire avalanches rolling on....
More true to GoT than last episode though, at least.
Some decent face acting by Daenerys, though I still find it irritating that her eyebrows don't match her hair and her eyes aren't purple. It's really not that hard to do with millions of dollars... and on top of that, the fucking Tyrion actor can't pronounce 'chance' convincingly, but says it multiple times... was he like, 'yeah I could spend more time with a dialect coach... for another hundred million.'
Missandei should have grabbed hold of Cersei and jumped.

Damn, Ghost got one of his ears bitten off. That had to of hurt. I'm bummed he's heading to the true North with Tormund, but he'll be happier there. I thought it was implied that there was something special about the relationship between each Stark and their direwolf. That they are somehow intrinsically attached. Anyway, I guess that wraps up his story in the show? Along with Tormund? booooooo?

I was literally shouting at the screen again this week at their treatment of Ghost. Cat woke up and looked at me from across the room like 'wtf u alright' and I promised her I'd never do that to her.

Lol, Bronn stepped into that magic teleportation machine and pushes forward the mission he's been given. I think in the 'director's cut' that comes out in 5 or 10 years, they should at least let us see this teleportation machine. It's played an important role and has been used heavily.

Pretty sure they had at least one or two scenes of Jon seeing through Ghost's eyes if not warging. Billions of dollars and they can't figure out how to do good wolf dream / warging sequences (for Starks other than Bran...).
If they wanted Qyburn's inventions to be so significant, they should have built him up a fuck of a lot more. No one ever came up with effective giant crossbow technology before?...

Not really a thing in the show, only in the books.

Assuming Bronn left not long after Jaime ran off, makes sense he'd arrive not much more than a day or two after Jaime did. Doesn't seem like an issue to me.

I mostly liked this one! A little soapy in the first half, which just isn't my cup of tea, but I've made my peace with that.
Something tells me Euron isn't going to be happy that Tyrion already knew Cersei was pregnant.

Yeah I liked this one. It still has a lot of the problems that have been showing increasingly in the last few seasons, but it was a welcome return to Game-of-Thronesyness after last week's thing. Finally comitting to Mad Dany which I worried they wouldn't, Sansa playing politics again (but with good reason), unexpected slaughters... it was good.

Welp, this was utter shit
Scorpions/ballistas do not work that way. They are not that accurate, especially from a ship. And they definitely cannot wreck other ships. They simply do not work like that.
Scouting is a thing. There is no way Dany could not have seen Euron's navy on the crystal clear day.
Why did Dany not kill the grossly outnumbered Unsullied and Dany who were so conveniently standing well within bowshot?
Why has no one asked super-assassin world-saviour Arya to kill Cersei, especially given that she is on her list?
Jon just kicks Ghost out. Infuriating.
This season is just bad. There are no excuses to be made here.
There is a significant chance that Dany is going to nuke KL. Jaimie and Jon might both die in the process. I think the twist ending will be Gendry being King, now that he has been legitimized.

They might not have asked (though I can see the show revealing that they talked about it off-screen) but it's definitely where she's going. No way Arya and Sandor don't end up face to face with Cersei and Gregor. Doubt she'll succeed though. I can see Gregor killing Arya and Sandor taking out Gregor in return (but also dying).
Either that or Arya loses her chance to kill Cersei by stopping to save Sandor who is being killed by the mountain.

I was practically screaming this at the tv while it was happening. Throw the chain around Cersei's throat and take her over the edge with you! I thought that's how they were going to off her anyway. I didn't think it was going to be beheading by sword.

Jon sending Ghost away. The final nail to the book coffin. Gosh, this series has slipped its moorings. Just need to keep reminding myself to enjoy it in its own right. And I do. I do. But wow do they make it taxing.
Yesterday, upon the stair, I saw a man who wasn't there. He wasn't there again today. Oh, how I wish he'd go away.

We all felt that was an awfully lame and unjust farewell between Jon and Ghost. I mean, I fully understand that a direwolf is not a "pet" (the way my dog is my wife's 3rd child, lol!) but from what I recall of the 1st three books I've read, each Stark did have a significant relationship with theirs, didn't they? And Jon just throws Ghost a look and he's off, after Ghost put his life on the line for him multiple times? Seemed cold and unfeeling to me.

Finally comitting to Mad Dany which I worried they wouldn't,
I have been telling people for WEEKS that Dany is not going to sit the Iron Throne and that she's got more of her Mad father in her than her more sane brother...but everyone disagreed with me (not you guys, in the real world)....so to them I finally get to say Ha HA. Not only did they commit to it with her convo with Jon, and then her own actions and intentions (burning King's Landing if Cersei doesn't capitulate), but a whole conversation between Varys and Tyrion. Nicely done. I also love that Tyrion WANTS so badly to believe that Dany is the right choice...but you can feel him wavering. He seems to get there in the end though. His last attempt at the Gates top appeal to his sister is him trying to save the queen he'd backed.
I generally liked this episode. Anyone who feels bad for Brienne, don't. I think Jaime's intent is not to go to KL to be with Cersei, but I think he's set on killing her and ending the connection to a woman who has such claws in him. IF Jaime lives (big if, I know) then I expect him and Brienne to be the Lannisters of the seven kingdom's going forward.
I dunno who will kill Cersei. I used to be 100% that Arya would do it...but now I'm not so sure.

I'm leaning strongly toward agreeing with you about Jaime. I think he was intentionally cruel to Brienne to possibly prevent her having to make a choice between staying with Sansa as she vowed and following him to try to stop him if he had told her he means to kill Cersei. I could be wrong though; you're never able to be sure with Jaime.
At this point, I'm still hoping Arya does Cersei in wearing Euron's face. But they do seem to be angling for Jaime now. Arya accompanying the Hound to KL does add some interesting possibilities though. Whoever does get to her will have to deal with Undead Mountain...

Yeah, that episode really tested my suspension of disbelief.
Ballistas in fixed position mounted on Hulls, but managing to aim accurately at distance in anti air, and then near laterally for anti ship.
A fleet with Ballistas that sees and aims at flying dragons before they can be seen by Dany
And then in the ongoing curious tactics discussion, a fleet all sailing one direction with ballistas mounted at the bow. And your dragon charges them head on, escapes then runs away. Drogon could have circled behind and wiped out rather a lot of the fleet before they could do much about it.

Tatts early in SH game: Hmm, so if I'm liberal I should have voted Nein to make sure I'm president? I'm not that selfish
Tatts later in SAME game: I'm going to be a corrupt official. I have turned from my liberal ways, and now will vote against the pesky liberals. Viva la Fascism.
When Venge's turn comes, he will get a yes from Mess, Dolmen, Nevyn and Venge but a no from the 3 fascists and me. **** with my Government, and i'll **** with yours

That fleet would have made an AEGIS cruiser envious lol. And a single firing pass from behind by Drogon would have finished things.
Also ballistas do not sink ships. In the great battles of the age of sail cannonballs had trouble sinking ships of the line filled with combustible gunpowder.
Also Cersei not killing that tiny group standing in front of her walls makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.

So very much all of this. Moving ships aiming at moving targets = 3 direct hits. Maybe they just didn't show us the lock-on targeting systems? And yes, don't fire all of them from behind.
