So, anyone getting this on release?

Last time From messed with the Souls mechanic, we got Bloodborne.

All I really know so far is that it's not an rpg as no character creation; there's a skill tree instead of weapon levelling; and Sekiro has a prosthetic arm that can hold different tools like a hook-shot type grapple. And, that they designed the game around a fluid, dynamic movement mechanic.

I've avoided gameplay videos until now, but from what I've read it has enough of a change to make it into a new type of game, as different to Souls as Bloodborne, maybe with even more of a departure.
So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

I might play it eventually but the souls games don't vibe with me and this looks like more of the same. Perhaps even more punishing with the resurrection mechanic.

All fair points. I just wish they'd implement a kiddy mode where check points were a lot more generous.

I'll be getting it day one. Just because I've loved the Souls series since Demons.

And Myazaki is responsible for all of them bar DS2, which was definitely the weakest of them.

They just have a tension and investment that keeps me hooked, and wanting to go back for more.
So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

I'll wait for reviews to tell me if it's playable with mouse + keyboard.

If it is, I'm planning to pick it up within a month. Need to finish Metro Exodus and play Onimusha first.

Of course if Bloodlines sequel actually releases tomorrow, all plans may be scrapped.

I ordered this a while ago. Huge fan of Miyazaki and the Souls Bourne games. I won't dive into it for a couple months yet, but it will be finished and luxuriated in.
I survived the Permian and all I got was this t-shirt.

Posted Image 'Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice' Review In Progress: So Much Harder Than 'Dark Souls' Or 'Bloodborne'

[Edit] Just scanned through the review threads on Reddit (which links all the major/significant game sites' reviews). Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is scoring rather high. I may have to pick this up.

Mines in the post... should be here after work tomorrow. Might just avoid all reviews since I'm getting it anyway, and go into it fresh.

What I have seen is making me want it more.. much more punishing than Souls? Better combat than Bloodborne? So much more challenging it's not even funny?

I wants it! Better clear some space on the hard drive.
