Oooh extra objectives... That could make things interesting!

Question about Demilitarized Zone: Does the planet still remain in the control of whoever had it last, before the units on it were destroyed?

So my default vote for the demilitarised planet is quann assuming blend wants it as it keeps him in the game.

Gwynan being elected would suck for Nom and looks like the obvious target for anyone looking at rex, my votes are for sale for or against this.

I'm inclined to vote against incentives to get more of those sweet 2vp objectives in the game.

I would assume so

I am okay with Quann being elected, but no biggie if not. My votes are up for sale if anyone wants them, though I probably wont vote on something that will hurt Nom.

Just got caught up. Hadn’t checked in a couple of days. Convention was really good*.

I’ll do my status update in a bit. First a question: anyone want me to place my Galactic Threat anywhere in specific? Or not?

* except for that panic attack in the convention hall Saturday night forcing me to leave a day early.

I've dropped my status update with Khell to help get through this stage a bit quicker.
I don't know what I'm doing but it sounds good.

Psah, me as well. Because of your twattery I got a total of two points out of this round out of 6 possible. And with how stretched I am, 11 planets will not be possible at all I suspect.

I think the Letnev are very powerful, though not as fun to play as the Arborec or Nekro. Unfortunately I think I've gone about playing them in an inefficient way, and as D'rek pointed out at the start, I probably should have picked a different race once I knew what neighbours I'd have.

What would you say would have been a more efficient way? How would you play them in future?

I've overfocused on Dreads to the detriment of my overall fleet composition, and I should probably have played more conservatively and spent some time reinforcing my systems. The way I've gone about the game gave me the potential this round to win, but it the chance of pulling that through was all but impossible, and the resulting fallout has left me in a much worse position than I would have been had I been more careful. If not for Gnaw's goodwill I'd be all but out of the game at this point.

The strenght of the Letnev makes their fleet a powerful deterrent against other players messing with you, and I've gone to pains to make sure my fleet was always bigger than Gnaw and IH's. When I stretch out too much though, without shoring up my other systems, that deterrent stops working.

I was surprised that the others colluded together to stop you though. In the previous games there was an unwillingness to come together, forget your own POs, and stop the person who looked likeliest to win. I was quite impressed with how well the others came to truces and played together against you (and against IH). Though it was probably helped by so many being so far behind that they didn’t mind helping out or not interfering with those setting out to stop you two.

Probably didn’t help our chances that IH and I won the two previous games.

I very much put myself in a bad position taking those two extra planets off of you just so you wouldn't win I'm willing to vacate them this round if it looks like IH is going to win and as you and D'rek are the only ones in a position to do anything about it depending on the new public objective I'm willing to work something out.
I don't know what I'm doing but it sounds good.

At least you have some planets, I suspect I will be down to one early next round...

I did promise it to Tapper next, actually, but given you're not my neighbour, I would be willing to trade it to you during the Agenda phase given we aren't neighbours any more with the caveat that you use it as your first action during the next Action phase so that I can immediately trade it to Tapper. Also as long as Tapper won't be too angry about it...
