[Steamer]

Hi all,

The name is Steamer.

Im a season fantasy reader of all fantasy genres but grimdark and dark fantasy is my preferred subgenre.

Looking for a solid fantasy tale that will last me about a week (say 10 hours worth of book)

Going away for a bit after that week so want to line up that with finishing the book.

Fave authors include: Erikson (obvs), Ryan, Wexler, Weekes, Fletcher, de castell etc.

I have also read most of the mainstream/big names in fantasy already.

Please hit me with fantasy (dark preferred) recommendations

Nacht, Ive read that series and the prince of fools series. Book 3 of broken trilogy was an absolute triumph.

I own Red Sister, read about half and struggled to get into it. Seemed a bit bland compared to the other series. a non stop training book.

Dark? Try "dusk" and "dawn" by Tim Lebbon.

David Dalglish and Robert Duperre have a trilogy that starts with "Dawn of Swords". The whole thing is a giant social experiment by 2 gods of radically different philosophies that goes very grimdark, very fast. I haven't read the follow-up books yet, but that one was the darkest book I read that year (which makes it darker than "Fall of Light" , which is saying something)

Yes, very much worth reading. One of the best examples of "new/woke" fantasy that rips as a story.
