I'm also afraid bad casting will be forever branded into my mind and I will be stuck with terrible visions of characters as I do re-reads. Like can you imagine Druiker's nameless marine being some glamourous, anorexic actress...aick!

Just a noob here but o well.
Id love to see a Chain of Dogs movie. Its one of the best sections of any book ive ever read, and how it ended was something to itself entirely, and would leave the audiences bawling.
I hope if its done they do it the justice it deserves.

alas most of us do, but if it cant oh well *shakes fist* as far as actors go...look about 1/4 of the way through this thread if they are going to make it they WILL do it right *nudges kallor* all in time my friends...

There're not many people that would be a worse choice than Sammy J for Coltaine.
I was hoping when I first heard about Snakes on a Plane that it was a comedy. Upon seeing the trailer, that small voice in the back of my mind that kept saying..."you know it's not...you know they're serious..." just exploded with victorious laughter.

The greatest thing is when you hear the interviews with SLJ, where he praises the script and how he thinks it's an awesome idea for a movie.
I guess you can sell "snakeoil" in L.A.

how is 'snakes on a plane' a great idea for a movie? i mean, after you've been scared once by a snake being where you don't expect one (eg. on a plane) it's all repetition after that.
..as far as 'chains' goes, i imagined a 'name' for duiker (to me, billy bob thornton would be a good choice) but as for the rest, well, i'd rather see 'no-name' actors who bring a certain freshness to the role (and don't forget that most of the other characters in chains are 'ethnic' of which there are few 'named' actors)...but we'll cross that bridge when we get to it...
