I dunno about you guys, but I really enjoyed the last round - every time I thought I knew how the round was gonna go, someone else surprised me! Next couple of rounds should be interesting, methinks! ;)

Gnaw! I think this would be the perfect time to use my Political PN ;)

Just started a meeting. It’ll be a couple of hours before I post my status.

Alright, I've looked at the wording on riders, on the Quash ability, and on the veto action card, and all of those timings are "when an agenda is revealed" or "start of an agenda phase" whereas the Political Secrets PN timing is "right before you vote" so I'm going to say that you should submit your decision about whether to use a Political Secrets PN along with your agenda phase votes. You'll have to decide which agenda to use it on - so if the player whose PN you're playing doesn't submit votes for that agenda, you'll have wasted their PN, but if they do, then it was helpful.

What happens if you win archived secret but already hold 3 SOs?

I'd say you choose one to discard

Correct - as long as you have unfulfilled SOs you can discard an SO when you draw over 3. If you have 3 fulfilled SOs, you would immediately discard the SO.

I will happily volunteer to be the target of ARCHIVED SECRET. Considering I have already fulfilled all 3 secret objectives, choosing me is not going to give anyone a leg up over someone else.

@ Tatts: you cannot pretend innocence or see your offer to Gnaw in a vacuum.
In fact, here you debunk Twelve's threat to anyone, the post below it you offer your trade to Gnaw, then try to lure Twelve into an alternative offer. Twelve then states that he will not make a counteroffer, he will just 'be very unhappy with you making that deal' (which basically means: I will carry out my threat). You then deal with Gnaw to enable him to build the war sun, which was Twelve's trigger.
The combination of events made clear you didn't believe Twelve would (or would be able to) carry out his threat. Don't raise alarms when Twelve attacks you because someone else crosses his line in the sand on your invitation.
As such, I'll go further than D'rek and say that extending that offer to Gnaw was because you'd expect it to be accepted, and therefore you face the consequences.

@ Twelve: I understand your frustration, especially considering this game takes months. I admire you for not tipping your king over but contesting every last die roll instead - don't know if I would have been able to do that.
Still, at the least consider that you offering to play kingmaker could set a precedent for the future where players with no shot of victory are going to help the frontrunner/ their better doing ally to victory (where normally allies turning enemies are part of the balancing of the game)? If you're okay with that (or if your frustration outweighs the concern), proceed in any way you see fit.

Yeah, I think twelve deserves a lot of credit for fighting it out to the end.

To be fair, I did have to discard one in order to manage. Having a PN from every player in a 9 player game seemed a little too tricky to accomplish.

My offer was not to Gnaw, it was to anyone with Sabotage. If you had Sabotage I would have offered my trade PN for it, as there is a PO that requires a lot of resources then plus 6 would have been welcome no?

I had Twelve's SftT so there was no way in which I would have attacked him, and I only took Meer because he was leaving it for Khell and I've been short on influence the whole game.

I agree with you and D'rek about Twelve's situation and it could have quite certainly been your situation too if D'rek and Khell decided to keep territory around your area. By letting you flourish early on and leave you uncontested they have given you a shot at victory.

Similarly IH and Nom leaving Morgoth alone.

Twelve's done a good job imo, and this whole game has taught me a lot. I've played it wrong and I admit that. It's a whole learning experience though better than the first game where I was just learning how to play or the rules. This game has taught me more about consequences and timing.

Next game I'd not do most of the things i've done this game.

I'd argue that IH and Nom left me alone because I made it profitable for them to do so, and a real pain to try and take any planets I control. I've worked to make choices which have left us on friendly terms without sacrificing my chance of victory (not using my PDS on IH for instance, trade, that sort of thing). I made a choice to leave off taking Noms system to my right at first because I figured it was his first game and he clearly didn't understand what it would mean to let the Arborec take a system next to his homeworld, but the following round when Nom continued to leave it unclaimed I chose not to take it anyway because I figured I was better served avoiding a military conflict with him considering my limited resources. I think that was the right call (especially seeing how he did not end up fighting Tapper, or investing much in fighting for MR), though it is by far the choice I've made this game that gnaws at me the most.

My point being that Nom and IH didn't just decide out of the blue to leave me alone. We found a common ground where not attacking came out as the best choice in a simple cost-benefit analysis. And considering how the three of us have stayed in the lead for most of the game, it seems to me it was the right call.

Yes yes, everyone's been brilliant. But I nominate myself for most impressive player! Who else stayed as true to their race's characteristics? Who else maintains a (very very) outside shot at winning despite possessing no planets, and not claiming the Imperial VP even once despite possessing Mecatol the longest? And who else has done all this with not a single word of complaint all game long? Truly my game has been bordering on inspirational genius.

As thanks and acknowledgement of my deeds, I will humbly and graciously accept being voted for the SO agenda.

I'll vote for you for the SO Agenda and block another person from voting on it but last time I dealt with you, you attacked me. So what's to say if I did this that you'd leave me alone.

Oh I hardly think I've been playing brilliantly. It seemed like tatts thought they left me alone for no reason, and I figured I'd show why the situation in our corner of the galaxy developed as it did. Or, at least my perspective as to why.

You are my brilliant star, Khell, and I trust you to always lead me through the cold winter nights to warmth and safety.

You have made an enemy this day, Arborec. The Prophecy of Ixth was clearly speaking about the Saar! We were totally getting around to it! Let it be known that the Saar will sing VERY disparaging songs about the weeds!
