I was going to place it on my ships and move to Mallice but IH had plans to move there and I had plans closer to home first.

It was looking like Twelve would get there on round 3 or early 4, and no one else seemed in a position to do so faster. I was hoping to drop a single gf there, grab the custodian token so Twelve can't get it, and then leave before Twelve could come in force (or even better if I could get Twelve to pay me to leave). But Twelve seems a bit pre-occupied and blocked now, so that's not necessary, and also there's a big fleet at my doorstep somehow...

True, I probably would be saying the same thing. At the moment I'm building a fleet for the sake of building a fleet, rather than any specific purpose. I have no plans to move any further this round unless someone forces me to.

I do want it for the whole of this round though, which should be obvious. What happens next round with it I don't care. So if you dropped the wormhole there and nothing comes through this round, that's fine. Heck, maybe I'd even use that wormhole myself next round

But there's no guarantee that IH wouldn't move through this round, so ergo I don't like it.

Last game (okay, we were all nervous and newbies) no player who paid attention was in any danger of being eliminated and resources were okay-ish to come by for everyone.
This game, I cannot help but agree with Gnaw that the map is probably good for a 7-player game, maybe for 8, but certainly not for 9.

It's going to be a long slog until 14 points or end of game.

Next time, I'd suggest we place the map hexes, then randomize the list again to see in what order we pick races and seats.

Bur from your homeworld to Mallice is 3 hexes (Gate, beta, Mallice), slipstream only gives each dread 2 movement.

I haven't looked at the map to check, but I think she's saying Gravity Drive only applies to one of them, not wormholes.
