Yeah, when I got what's underneath that spoiler I had to pause for a sec. and try and contain the excited buzz that hit me. It's a real nice gift for those who have been with GoW since the beginning. I think it also illustrates that

I mean I've only briefly played one of them - I had whichever one was on the PSP - so I was vaguely aware of things but I don't think it was such a "wow" moment for me. That being said, I'm loving

Wait until you level it up. You will make groups of enemies dance and easily walk through some that had caused you difficulties earlier. Although

Magic is how I beat the Valkyries. Heavy focus on cooldown and runic. I shifted actively between the axe and the other weapon to always have spells available, and I used the kid’s attacks a lot. I Can’t remember the names of the spells, but the focus was on damag and stun, and if they granted a period of invulberability (like that shield charge) they were a must.

Also the shield is essential.

Be sure to explore every bit of the Lake of the Nine.

Also did you find it annoying that

Yeah it was weird that the only portal that worked for ages was the central one. Glad I'm past that.

I keep thinking I've explored the lake and then I find a new cave to go into. I'm not sure I've done it yet though my map is looking quite full now...

Finished! Oh my goodness I cried at the end...

What a flipping game. There has never been anything like it. I think the only other game I have been this affected by upon finishing is The Last of Us. Just a supremely powerful gaming experience.

Same reaction here. I remember my mouth dropping open at that particular revelation.

And same for The Last of Us.

Definitely an excellent game. In my top 5 all time for sure. From the beginning to end, pure brilliance. Glad you took your time playing it, Tiste. I think many here blaze through playing a game because they want to be the first one to comment on it. In doing that, I think you cheat yourself of the experience. Let the game come to you, don't force it, let it happen organically, reflect on the story and game in digestible blocks before you make your next foray into the unknown. Anyway, I'm getting side tracked. But yeah, God of War is a gaming experience all who own a PS4 should bravely take on. You won't be disappointed.

I loved that game too. Such a pleasant surprise to find a character driven and touching story in a God of War game.

Mid game, what armor sets did everyone like to use? Did you mix and match or try to find/craft a matching set?

Right now I'm using what ever I have with a socket and decent stats.

If I remember correctly, there's benefit to have everything matching. It will buff certain stats. I'll have to jump back into the game to see what gear I was using. I remember I had it crafted by one of the dwarf brothers. I remember I looked badass when I had it all matching and equipped.

I just wire what looked the coolest. I didn't think the buffs made that much of a difference.

Yeah same. For example if I can across a cool set of arm braces that improved something I'd put them on. Didn't really think about it.

So it's taken me until level 5, but I feel like I've settled into the combat system and most of my attacks are planned out, instead of a happy little accident of button mashing. Took down a Traveller and freed my first dragon last night.

My armor is all over the place. I am trying to upgrade a set of Rare Dwarven Armor with my woefully small amounts of hacksilver.

At a certain point, your attack muscle memory will be sent back to school. If you so choose to go that route. Posted ImagePosted Image

Getting ready to leave Helheim for the first time. I've got some new stuff to spend XP on!
