No, I'm kidding, the thing about being a Canadian during the playoffs (specifically a GTA Canadian) is that we're very used to this disappointment and so the sadness doesn't last too long. We just take a couple shots of Maple Syrup and Whiskey and think about next year.
It would have helped if the Raps hadn't been swept by Cleveland and if the Jays closer hadn't just beaten the shit out of his girlfriend (such a moron) but oh well, we're used to Toronto sports disappointment.

Frankly, I wouldn't mind if any of the remaining teams win the cup, they're all good teams.

It's fairly close to Toronto, just a little further down Lake Ontario. One of the main reasons they didn't get an NHL team was because it is close to Toronto, which I still think is super stupid since California has a bunch of teams and they're all doing fine, heck New York has 2 and they both do fairly well.

Wow, Hamilton is not far from Buffalo, NY. I'm guessing because how it is situated on Lake Ontario, their winters are not as bad as Buffalo's or Toronto's? I could be wrong though.

Sort of, Jim Balsillie tried a number of times to bring a team to Hamilton but most of them fell through, he tried to buy existing teams like Pittsburgh, Nashville (He got close but they sold to someone else), Arizona, Buffalo, but they never worked out. Then he tried to get a new expansion team started but the NHL (Gary Bettman) said that there were no plans for an expansion... which we know now was bullshit.
Since Hamilton is within 50-miles of Toronto and Buffalo they would have had to get permission from both teams to have a team there and possibly a big payment since it could take ticket sales from both teams as well.
So there were a few reasons why it didn't work out but we can see in the states teams close by that still are profitable so it all seems pretty sketchy to me.

As for the winters it depends where in Hamilton, there's some places that are a little higher up that get a ton of snow. I'd say it's fairly similar to Toronto though mostly, it's not really that far away.

On the other hand, it would be neat to see Ovie win his first cup after being in the league so long never having made it past the second round of the playoffs.

Ovechkin is polarizing. There are a lot of hockey fans who do not want him ever to hoist the cup. I personally have enjoyed how dynamic of a player he has been through his career and wouldn't be totally upset if the Caps won. But I've got a soft spot for Vegas, and so am pulling for them. Plus, shit talking my bro who lives in the D.C. area is too much fun.

So, I was thinking about calling the Washington Capitols, the "Washing-a-Ton of Crapitals." What do you guys think? It's a hard name to make fun of. I was also thinking of coming at them from another angle, doing something like: "You know how they keep saying to drain the swamp in Washington? Well, the Crapitals should melt their ice and play water polo instead, because they suck at ice hockey". What do you guys think? Also, give me any ideas for talking shit if you've got em, kay?

I think it depends what you use for washington, if you go with we-shit-tons (or something similar) then Crapitals is probably better since it follows the same general fecal theme, and as SE has taught us it's good to keep a theme going.
