I really don't understand how he intends to do that this round though. He hasn't even built another space dock. But yes, leaving Politics as long as possible would be advisable. If it looks like he could take back the homeworld, then yes, someone like Blend might be better (though I suspect you yourself would have ulterior motives for wanting that, but I'll try to climb out of the same suspicion pit from where you view my suggestion ).

Might be some strong action cards maybe. Or he aims to wear me down using the three cannons within range and several activations of Jol-Nar. It's hard to say. I don't have a serious expectation of hanging onto Jol Nar, but preventing Twelve from scoring this round should be all I need to keep him from winning I hope.

That my friend you have definitely accomplished. Having 12 infantry and having most of my ships out of range of jol nar make this round about setup for next round. If you don't mind moving that cruiser in the asteroid field back down south would be appreciated as well.
