Oh yeah, it's all backed up onto three flash drives so that's not a concern. The main issue is that I can't write on my phone / work computer so I'm a bit stymied until I can get this fixed.

After the prologue, Incarnate is about 140-150k. I'm thinking that for a benchmark, though it might be a bit under.

Had a brainwave on my way to work this morning (I got here at like 6:05 so it was an early morning no coffee revelation) as to how I break my mental deadlock around one particular, rather pivotal set of events. I should be able to finish up the first draft over the next few months.

As an aside, I'm working on an anthology piece I was invited to do (!) and a fantasy/sci-fi isekai light novel (working title In The Skies).

Isekai is the genre, light novel is the style. Basically a short story (50k or so) set in an alternate world / video game. I just fancied doing it, so started doing it. It's probably a good thing the idea came to me as well as I'm getting nicely past this horrendous creative block that's held Manifest itself up for so long.

OK so I've temporarily put Manifest on the back-burner (made good strides with it but need to sit and hum and hah over a few bits). My energy is going into the light novel right now.

I suppose you could describe it as LitRPG gone grimdark?

Why are you wasting time here then? Almost doesn't cut it, Maarky Maark. :p
