Whoa the Curling stones have green lights on them! Amazing stuff that!

They are actually lasers.

The curler has to let go of the rock before he/she passes the hog line. The stones have detectors in them for when the handle was released and where the stone is. On a legal throw they light up green. If a curler held on two long, they would flash, and they'd burn the curler.

Its called a hog line incineration. Hardly ever happens.

All friendly ribbing aside guys, the curling has really been a lot of fun. Looks like the USA is going to play Sweden for the gold. Which is a win/win for me, as my roots go back to Sweden on my dad's side.

Also, the US Men's team are a bunch of super cool dudes and very entertaining to watch. If you guys haven't seen them yet, you should definitely make it a priority to watch them. You won't be disappointed.

Tatts early in SH game: Hmm, so if I'm liberal I should have voted Nein to make sure I'm president? I'm not that selfish

Tatts later in SAME game: I'm going to be a corrupt official. I have turned from my liberal ways, and now will vote against the pesky liberals. Viva la Fascism.
When Venge's turn comes, he will get a yes from Mess, Dolmen, Nevyn and Venge but a no from the 3 fascists and me. **** with my Government, and i'll **** with yours

Didn't change that at all because boring mod is already small and slimy.

Sad that Homan and the team could not pull out enough wins to qualify...but I'll be brutally honest and say they played like ABSOLUTE shit against Russia. Same thing in the China game, just boneheaded and lazy errors on shots they could make in their sleep. Hell, in the 7th end they had THREE shots at an easy double and fucked it up all three times.

Anyways. It is what is is. Better luck in 4 years I guess.

Minus points and disapproving tuts for not listing place 5.

I was disappointed with our poor attitudes when we lost the women's hockey in the shootout. It was poor sportsmanship. ESPECIALLY Laroque (the one who immediately took her silver medal off after it was put on her neck)....who has since apologized for being a poor role model.

And yeah, the US team played their hearts out, that's for damned sure, and deserved that gold after 20 years of trying. Bravo guys.

Damn, Canada really screwed the pooch in Men's Curling, not even getting the bronze metal. Must be tough to swallow for a country that claims to dominate the sport.

USA v Sweden tonight. LETS GO USA! U - S - A! ... U - S - A!

Just watched CAN v Swiss men’s Curling for bronze. Spoiler alert! It was an upset. From what I heard this is the 1st non medal for CAN in a long time or maybe ever.

USA v Sweden will be tonight.

On women’s Im really routing for SK! They facing Japan. Not sure when. Their skipper...oh my!

The Japanese skip, Satsuki Fujisawa, is no scratch either.

And I think SK will take it.

And currently sitting in a mighty 22nd place - the winter powerhouse of Australia! 2 silver, 1 bronze. No golds this time. Ah well. We'll learn to live with the shame. :killingme:

Pretty funny considering our snowfields are bigger than Switzerland. Then again, my ensuite is bigger than Switzerland.
