Sceptical. History has taught us that's just there as a placeholder.

Amazon.de has Nov. 19, 2019. Maybe they use a different calendar to throw their darts at - which is the Amazon way to deal with release dates.

A hint of what will appear in the new book?

From Erikson's FB page:

Hello, everyone. I have concluded that many of you know my ten-book series better than I do (it's been a few years, you know). I could hunt down the info I'm looking for, or I could ask you. I'm asking you. Most detailed response gets a sub-press book from me. Icarium creates new warrens. What are they?

wow. Well, apparently, you were all sitting in front of your laptops with references texts at hand. Impressive! Thanks.

I think what's sad is that Erikson doesn't have notes on his new gods and that he doesn't know how to use a search function in a word processor or an e-reader... But maybe that's just me.

Even the wiki doesn't have much on this topic. Maybe he just wants to give out some books and engage with fans.

He also made this follow up post on FB:

Thanks folks for your awesome responses. I was looking for something specific, although all the theory stuff you offered up was terrific.

The problem may not be that he doesn't have a search function - the problem may be that the files are either too numerous (multiple versions) or on another machine. It may simply be that it is easier to pick up the final product book version and find the names there rather than search through everything.

There's also the difficulty to find which keywords to get the warren names. I don't think Icarium names them himself and I think the names pop up in sections that don't involve him directly.
I survived the Permian and all I got was this t-shirt.

Perhaps, perhaps. But seeing as my main gripe about later MBOTF is that they lose that feeling of long term planning by the author, new mysteries replacing old ones, this just doesn't inspire much confidence in me.

Buried in an Erikson Facebook post about John M. Ford's Star Trek novels:

Quote

[H]ere's an update on my Karsa novel: I have the book's final scenes in my head and am now on the final run towards those scenes. It'll take a bit yet, but the momentum's picked up and I'm on a roll.

I'm lucky to have read the first ten chapters and it was like slipping back into warm blankets on a cold night.
It's a touch of class, it really is and I missed it.

Are you allowed to share any details?

Is it true that there's no Karsa?

I've only read ten chapters and it's not noticeable that he's not made an appearance yet - in so far as there's other things to think about plus there's stuff about him dotted all over the place.
I don't think anyone will find it egregious once reading commences.
