According to Erikson on his Facebook, he’s finished.
And so ... fini. 5:25 PM local time. The next few days devoted to a read-through, and then it's off to agents, publishers, etc. Am I pleased? Pretty much. Satisfied? I think so. Exhausted? Oddly enough, not at all. To write is to feed one's own soul. Here I am, full up.

I've always been crazy but its kept me from going insane.

I'm actually kind of excited to hear that Karsa might not be appearing much. He's fun but I don't think I could take an entire three books following him around while he smashes things. The first.... however long it was, of HoC was a lot to get through.
I'm also disheartened that Kharkanas is postponed. I liked the mythic feel of it.

Laseen did nothing wrong.

Per Erikson, the first book won't come out until next year. As of August 2020 he's still waiting for the edited manuscript to come back from the publisher.
Some further tidbits from the latest NOT A TSACAST podcast:
1. His first two aborted attempts to write the opening of The God is Not Willing will instead likely become the openings of Books 2 and 3. Book 2's opening occurs in the rubble of an Azath House in another realm while Book 3 opens in Darujhistan.
2. Karsa's appearance in Book 2 is only tentative.
The Karsa talk begins around 51 minutes into the podcast.

What the hell? Why the hell is he writing these Toblakai books and leaving out the character that's set up to be the central figure?

Just a hunch but i think we all need to stop looking at this as a Karsa series, and more like a sequel series to MBF.

I think he'd said that a while back too and I was annoyed at that point, my thinking, seeing it as a Karsa series how can you not have Karsa...
Now though, I just want a series that has true relevance, I think that's the best word for it, relevance to what has come before and what will be when we look at the future of the Malazan world after the main series...

I went back and relistened to the podcast and he says Book 1 focuses on one geographical area and Book 2 another. Then the separate threads converge for Book 3.

Sometimes I think he makes choices in the books in order to satisfy his intellectual pursuit of subverting tropes, which hurts the reading experience. E.g. no Karsa (although he is generally popular I think?) in a Toblakai trilogy and weird fights and little facetime with Anomander in a Tiste trilogy.

Don't suppose you could CTRL-C, CTRL-V here?

Is it on Amazon, though? I can't find it. There's a thread on reddit with this synopsis and a July 2021 shipping date, but the Amazon link it includes as proof has none of this info.

Then again, half an hour ago Erikson posted on his Facebook page that his book blurb has just seen the light of day. So probably it's the real thing.
Here's a link to his hand drawn map which will be redrawn for the book.

I don't know what to say. I've followed that link on pc, tablet, and phone using several different browsers. No synopsis shows up on my screens. Weird.
Spoiler
Edit: I've since found the publisher synopsis on the Amazon UK page along with the July 1 publishing date, but Amazon US is still missing for me.

FYI: The God is Not Willing is going to be a little late in the US. Erikson's US publisher's website now shows November 16 instead of November 9 as the publishing date.

Huh? It has been out for months.
Yesterday, upon the stair, I saw a man who wasn't there. He wasn't there again today. Oh, how I wish he'd go away.
