Hello everyone,

As the last two calendars were such a success, thanks to all the contributions, and we somehow managed to organize everything, we will do another one this year. A bit more than six months left until Christmas, so I guess it's time to get started as soon as possible.

For beginners:

The Malazan Wiki will again host a virtual advent calendar with fan art images from our awesome artists on its homepage (and that of the German version). Each day of the festive season a new picture will be unveiled. We hope that established as well as new artists will be submitting never before seen Malazan artwork for the fans to enjoy.

The Advent Calendar has no official theme, so feel to create some straight forward Malazan fan art or a festive season image with a Malazan spin.

In case that you need some inspiration, there are still a large number of characters left from the books with good descriptions that haven't gotten attention from an artist until now. Or maybe try a whole scene from the books. You can also always ask us for descriptions or ideas.

If you want to join us just leave a message below or drop a note to one of the Art Team of the wiki (Egwene, Andorion, myself), either here or on the Wiki, and we will give you instructions on how to submit.

Rules:

As always, please keep your image secret until it is unveiled on the calendar. We don't want to spoil the surprise for the fans.

Please submit your contributions by the 15^th of November so that we can plan the calendar ahead of time. If we have more than 25 artists wanting to take part, we will create a waiting list. If you submit your image after the deadline, we won't be able to guarantee your place in the calendar.



Thank you to everyone who is going to participate and I hope it will be as much fun as in previous years. I will try to regularly update the list of artists and the number of contributions received.

I am shocked and saddened to see that last year’s top contributor is not engaging with the process this year. And I was so looking forward to see if the magnificent Gumble depiction could be bettered. Sad times.
