Grr. Scummy. Who's symp? Yours? Amp's? Merrid's? Give me a break.

In a situation with 2 unkillable CIs, having a 3 v 2 gives the pair of CIs 67% chance of lynching scum.

If at this point (anywhere from 5:1) there's only a killer left, then town is basically guaranteed victory, because even if it goes down to the last 3, Nim and I will be the 2 CIs in the end.

The only scum/symp combo I cannot really see at this point is Kilava/Merrid. At least one of them should be town.

I would need a re-read before I can commit to an opinion regarding Amp and Galain. Both have done things that are scummy as fuck.

You think I could be Merrid's symp? Think of how much I have pushed towards wanting him gone.

But here you go, whoever you decide to lynch I will follow. That way I am not pushing anyone on you. No pressure though.

That would be a convenient statement for the killer to make.

Very true. Same with someone everyone thinks is symp.

If you have time, have a look at how many times SR is mentioned, by how many different people before Kilava, Merrid and Ampelas place their votes. I still think it is good for scum to distance by being on the train. If Merrid's place is most town, according to some then Kilava's just joining the bandwagon.

So gun to head I'd be voting Kilava right now.

Is there any reason to not think Kilava is scum?

Anyone?

1:1 is always a town-sided trade.

I also don't really know what you mean by this. Do you mean revealing one town for one scum? But they're not revealed as in confirmed - because the rest of town (and the other roled town) do not know which one to believe.

No. I mean death.

1 Town death is a worthy price if it results in a scum kill the next day.

1:1 trade.

Edit: fu autocorrect

But how would it do that? Your original proposal was that the healer and bodyguard effectively stay alive for the duration of the game by protecting each other through revealing. I'm saying that likely won't work because scum can fake-reveal.

So then you change your stance and say that well, we effectively vote to lynch the revealer and the counter-revealer in an effort to get rid of scum. In which case, yes, the scum is dead - but so is the roled town, for the rest of the game. It's not a great trade because the scum who dies is most likely the symp, who doesn't even need to be rid of for town to win the game.

So in a sense it would be two days spent talking about that, rather than finding the two killers, no?

Around the reveal he was engaging with you about it but then again so was SR.

Also worth noting that Kilava continues to have no comment on my note about Merrid.

Well, that's because I currently have no particular comment on it. I felt Merrid made some fair points, and you answered reasonably - at least till you started calling everyone scummy who spoke negatively about you ;) Could Merrid be scum attempting to throw suspicion on your motives? Maybe, but only in the same sense that I could be.

I don't think that anyone has actively tried to discredit you - no one is countering your claim. But we are - at least, I have been - questioning some of your reasoning behind it. In any case, as I think I've already made clear, what's done is done, and now we see what comes next. As I said, I reckon a continuing non-reveal of the other role can benefit town, because Nimander is unlikely to be targetted by a kill in case the bodyguard has chosen them.

In the sense that I left my vote there because I didn't like his attitude.

Poor attitude tends to be a vote magnet, especially on d1.

It's the fact he's voting an un-cc'ed role with that flimsy excuse that is damning.

Actually, being reasonable on day 1 tends to be a vote magnet ;)

I thought that when Merrid said it's "no-risk" they meant their own vote on you as you're unlikely to be lynched currently - I may be wrong?

Who said Kilava could not be Merrid's symp? This looks like he could be

Okay thinking of scumminess. You are talking to Kilava about Merrid. He posts at 6.45.

At 6.47 you vote SR. Kilava leaves thread for quite a while. Over 50 posts.

Vote Galain

Just the kind of thing I would say when I HAVE read all the posts but don't want to interrupt town shouting at each other.

When he comes back he votes for me and does not comment on your SR vote.

That looks like he is wanting to see what other players think of your vote first.

Kilava's progression to finding SR scummy is slow, he looks like he is reading what others are saying and going with the flow.

Although I can't argue the logic of Galain's vote, the way he switched gears doesn't sit well with me.

The tone feels off.

There he was, merrily tunneling away on me, then all of a sudden he drops a vote that is completely unrelated to the push he was building towards.

Could it be a case of read evolution? Possibly. New here, so I don't trust it. Looking forward to the opinions of others.

To be fair to Galain, you were the star of the show yesterday, not much else to discuss while doing a readthrough. I quite like the Osseric vote - although it's essentially the same reason as I voted for Galain yesterday.

SR: umm, second vote on a revealed healer: that's just daft. Not only are you voting on the train that Merrid himself expected to get no traction, you are voting a revealed healer . Like, why?

I was obviously trying to catch the scum attempting a quickhammer!

(by scum I mean the whole scum team)

On d-day, sure. On day 1, I'm not sure I buy this reasoning. I wonder if you aren't retconning a reason after finding the pressure diverting on to you instead.

Two's the first loser

Two can be as bad as one, it's the loneliest number since the number one - ber.

I wasted valuable time reading the roles and scenario.

Just a quick note, this was what first caught my attention. In a scenario with paired killers, anything saying "pair" or "two" immediately catches the eye. Two (killers) can be as bad as one (killer). Indeed.

Well, ya caught me. I wasn't just responding to the first line of a cheesy Three Dog Night song from the 70s with the second line to a cheesy [/i]Three Dog Night[/i] song from the 70s. I'm scum through-and-through; signaling my master in my second post of day 1. You, sir, are a Mafia genius.

Out of character. ;)

Huh, and here I thought it was Aimee Mann. As signalling cases go, it's not a bad one in terms of the wordplay, I can see what Ampelas is saying. But who would they be signalling?

View PostKilava, on 09 May 2017 - 02:55 PM, said:

Ah I see you do later on address this when asked.

Silchas' reasoning after their vote does not strike me as particularly jokey, and that's what made me suspicious of it. And just a little while ago they gave a rundown of various people, pointing fingers in a few different places. None of it's cast iron, but the dude gives me some off vibes.

Not sure on Galain any more. Obviously they've said a lot more today, most of it pretty obvious and along the lines of what was said yesterday. In any case I think I may switch to Silchas later.

Edit: it's not its.

I just see him as slow balling. Nearly getting round to his vote.

Fair point.

Killing scum could also wait and see which way town reacts also, though.

Yes Ampelas, I was saying that I'm not committed to a vote yet. I'm currently deciding between SR - to make sure they never make a joke again - or on the other hand I'm tempted to test Galain's conviction on Osseric. That kind of single-mindedness is interesting. If Galain is who I think they are, they do have good instincts. Sometimes. And Osseric is currently dead weight. On the third hand, having blinkers for a nonentity is an easy way for scum to look like they're contributing something independently.

Does it, though? With the case being "too smooth", which is smth that virtually never flies on D1 on its own, it'd be a perfect distancing move.

You seem to be working under the misconcption that I KNEW Silchas would turn out scum. Obviously, I did not. I did not like Silchas' explanations, as I made perfectly clear, but it was hardly cut and dry either. My suspicion may very well have been wrong, and I hadn't liked the way you had begun the game either. *Eventually,* I voted for Silchas.

If my vote seems hesitant, then once again that seem perfectly sensible to me for day 1. But it is not like I laid my vote on Silchas out of the blue either.

And I'm sorry, but my day 2 play is just not something a lone killer amongst several town roles would do.
