Wait,
what are we discussing here?
People misremembering things is proof that a smart kid thinks we live in a parallel universe?
People misremembering things is not new, its part of why eye witness testimony is considered so suspect and why confirmation bias is so prevalent in peoples beliefs and arguments. We remember very little accurately without hard copies, the brain makes up what you want it to and then convinces you its true.
The buzzfeed list is just common misconceptions, everyone spells things wrong and remembers shit from their childhood wrong. Just have any drunken debate with your friends about what REALLY happened on *insert dramatic day* in grade school. everyone will have a sligfhtly different view on it, and even if they say "really? maybe I'm remembering it wrong" they don't mean that, they still think they are right.
Its how spin masters work for politicians and corporations, get their version out first and loud, and once an idea is lodged, people don't truly change their minds that often, your brain has created a memory, and doesn't want to alter it. point and case, the poor woman who got absolutely scalded by her McDonalds coffee. she spilt some hot coffee and sued mcdonalds right? no, the coffee was served to her at nearly boiling point, she was left with massive 3rd degree burns, didn't want to sue, just wanted her medical bills covered, which mcds refused. but everyone KNOWS the silly old biddy didn't know coffee was hot LOL and sued mcds for 1 millions dollars! This idea was pedalled, and it stuck. The human brain is a lying cheating mess, always has been,
this is not an alternative reality because you always thought curious george had a tail

Well it refers more specifically to mass misremembering of the same thing. A lot of it is lame (the Froot Loops thing) but a few things stand out (the most famous, aside from Mandela, being Shazaam vs. Kazaam & the Berenstain Bears). And I'm sure I've heard the "of the world" thing -- it just probably wasn't a Queen performance of the song.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

Well, the original doesnt end with 'of the world' in the final chorus but the line is used in the previous two choruses, plus i think on a live album of theirs that i have (i think it is the live at Wembley one), Freddy does end it with a drawn-out 'of the woooorld'. So i am sure they performed it like that live regularly.

Yesterday, upon the stair, I saw a man who wasn't there. He wasn't there again today. Oh, how I wish he'd go away.

Ohhh, well in that case that doesn't make for a very good one, since it's pretty clear where the mistake is.
They came with white hands and left with red hands.

Huh, I remembered Full Anality as an entirely different kind of video.

This video was where I heard of this "Mandela Effect" for the first time.
Seriously though? It's like basic cognitive neuroscience

There is a reason for almost everyone of these
In silence of the lambs he says good morning but in Hannibal he does say Hello Clarice.
C3P0s leg is silver but its also reflective. The result is it looks gold. Its almost impossible for anyone to tell, never mind remember.
Life is like a box of chocolates is simply the correct syntax when your no longer speaking as Forrest Gump talking about his dead mother saying the line. So 'my mother used to say life was like a box of chocolates' is changed to 'life is like a box of chocolates' in the absence of the full context and poor memories.
We ore the champions is a song in an album called News of the World. Perhaps it got combined or perhaps someone sang a performance once with the wrong lyrics and it stuck

Last one is even easier: the first times the refrain is sung, we are the champions actually is followed by 'of the world'. Easy to imagine that you wrongly remember it being that way at the end of the song.

Just to be clear, spelling/remembering it as The BERENSTAIN BEARS means you are from Universe A (AKA the original one), and everyone who spells it the other way, is from Universe B (AKA the invader universe).

I think my favourite example on the buzzfeed list is the 'magic mirror on the wall' thing as if 'mirror mirror' wasn't the phrasing in almost every verion of the story other than disney's.
I can't carry it for you, but I can carry you.

As usual, Nico has mistaken a Phoenix Inn topic for a DB topic, I see. XD

My favorite is Ed McMahon. Supposedly he never worked for Publishers Clearing House.
