If the Hound dies...I very much expect Zombie Hound to take on Zombie Mountain. No question. It would be too cool a scene to pass up.

Aslo, could The Hound even DEALwith his zombie brother without wight powers?

I expect we'll get to see Jorah wield LONGCLAW at some point, probably to save Jon's life (or maybe if Jon dies). Cos I have a sneaky feeling that Jon is gonna die again and be brought back again (it mightn't happen on this trip but he will be resurrected again i'm sure). But it would be a good fanservicey moment to have Jorah wield his family's ancestral blade.

The other thing i'm wondering is if the trip north of the wall is D&D's way of trying to include the Last Hero prophecy in some way. I couldn't see how many were in Jon's party aside from the main characters we know, but it looked like there were a few redshirts present as well. If so, is this the group of 12 who go to learn the secret to defeating the enemy. The curious line in the property had something about them all dying, even his faithful dog. Which when i first saw it, would make you think it was gonna be Ghost biting the dust, but instead it could be the Hound? Anyway, that's my latest tinfoil theory.

That's because it's not a prophecy.

There were seven if you ignore the WIldling Redshirts.... Jon, Jorah, Gendry, Tormund, Thoros, Beric and the Hound. That scene right at the end was a lovely Magnificent Seven'esque shot.

Jon can't permanently die just yet. The fans would devour the production team whole.

Gendry has a lot of plot potential, as a smith, as Baratheon's heir, as a potential match for Sansa or Arya... but yeah, still think he's dead meat. He basically returned and got his cool best friend stripes just for this purpose.

Jorah... i dunno. i see the argument for his heroic sacrifice now, but i suspect it more likely to be taking a blade for Dany or something closer to home. There's just too much story and pathos there for him to buy it in the North.

Tormund... fan favorite, and that Brienne thing is going nowhere. This is GoT. He's dead. Probably hacking a White Walker to death in the process. Davos can take over Eastwatch... they practically screamed that in his 'i;d be a liability out there' scene.

Thoros and Beric, dead and dead. Suitably heoric last stand, probably the flaming sword scene we saw in the S6 trailer.

The Hound... Cleganebowl still has to happen, but i have to admit the idea of it being zombie v zombie is gloriously crazy awesome. So, sort of dead.

Would be nice if Ghost showed up for this, even if it meant the direwolf ends up... you guessed it... dead. Gotta shave the fx budget where they can.

This just makes me wish that John Sturges or Akira Kurosawa himself were still around to direct an episode of GoT.

Or fuck it, Sam Peckinpah.

Tormund could die, but there are issues. The biggest problem with killing him isn't Brienne, it is that he is really the only visible representative left of the Wildling army. If they kill him they have to introduce another wildling character.

It's not like they really have any major/secondary Dothraki characters anymore. If it works for them, it could work for the Wildlings, too.

I kinda love it when D'rek unleashes her nerd wrath, as I knew she would here. Sorry innocent bystanders, but someone's gotta be the kindling.

Except that the Dothraki are presumed to be all in on Dany come what may. The wildlings and the north are still a somewhat iffy relationship, and Tormund a big part of what keeps it in line.

If they're trimming cast for drama purposes, Tormund is expendable.

Pretty much everyone except Dany, Jon and maybe one or the other Stark sister are expendable. Even Tyrion, tho i expect that he's in for the whole run.

Tyrion will end up on the Iron Throne.

Solid possibility. I've pointed out before how their (unconsummated) marriage unites Lannister and Stark.

BUT.... that is a logical ending for the books. Dany and Jon would be the Hollywood ending, and the tv show may just go that route.

That would require both of them to survive. Plus create a whole who wears the pants issue.

Just because Jon 'doesn't like ruling' doesn't make him automatically a subservient husband, especially when it will likely come out that he has a better claim to the throne. And the opposite? Dany has a long way to go in her character arc for that. Plus you get right down to the basics. The main reason you have multiple Targaryens is so you can lose some in the final battle.

Dany or Jon could end up on the throne. They could even have a kid. But there is no ever after for them. Tyrion and Sansa may not happen either but as a pair they are more likely to survive to the end.

There won't be an iron throne in the end.

the thing with Tyrion is that he could be on the throne for a while then lose it.

He is based off Richard the Third after all (the Shakespearean version at least)

So Cersei and Jaime both die, leaving Tyrion rightful ruler via Lannister side (ignoring potential Targyness).
meh. Link was dead :(

Is she really even aiming for a Throne in the sense of what has gone before? With them questioning the nature of 'following a King just because his father was one' in the last ep, it looks more like the 'game of thrones' will end with the end of the thrones themselves.
So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

The episode leaked. I watched it. There were some set leak spoilers I saw before the season started, so the big shocks of the episode were not a shock to me. Can't wait to see it again on Sunday with proper audio.

One thing that sucks about watching early is that you have no one to talk to about it. B) I could talk to some random people I don't know on r/freefolk or something, I guess...

If there's anything you're dying to know about it, PM me. Not even going to tempt anyone with spoiler-tagged stuff.

How do these episodes keep leaking? Is there some third party production house that is leaking it or what? This kind of shit makes me nervous browsing around the internet.

Wasn't it season 5 when the first four episodes leaked at once? I heard something about some streamer dudes in India being sued over GOT leaks, but I have no idea how they would have gotten their hands on it.

That's really messed up. On my cable box the listing for the upcoming episode just says "Episode 66" (with no description underneath). This is the way I prefer it. I even felt last week's episode revealed too much with the title "Eastwatch", because you knew the episode was going to visit the goings on of the BWB and The Hound. The whole idea is to be surprised and not even have one inclination what is going to happen, right? I try to keep in that way for myself. I find I really enjoy the episode a whole lot more and I'm also more engaged.
