Yep, 3 episodes left. I've liked all of them so far.

I'm progressing on my rewatch this week because I got DB madness out of the way early this week. I can rest easy until Friday.

I just rewatched Tommen's coronation. I noticed they just called him Tommen of House Baratheon. With Joffrey it was always Houses Baratheon and Lannister. I can't remember exactly how it went in the books, but I do recall the double Houses being used for Joffrey at least once. (In the show, it was used at least twice, once when Ned was called before him, and again at his wedding.)

Sorry for the inadvertent spoiler. Didn't really think that through.

Was it a leak spoiler? Because that's the only sort of spoiler that has to be tagged in this thread. Once the episode airs, it's fair game (who is reading the thread if they haven't watched yet?) and book spoilers are allowed too, not that they're very relevant anymore.

So, does Arya take Littlefinger out, or do we think Sansa is playing the long game in which SHE eventually ices him. I think his death warrant has already been signed though, and that was the point of the "Chaos is a ladder" comment from Bran/3ER.

I'd love to see Arya take him out...but it would make far more sense for it to be Sansa...plus considering he's basically replaced his obsession with Catelyn with the younger model...he deserves a much more meaningful death by someone he seems to trust who will turn on him. And whatever it is, is not going to be pretty.

But I agree that for the first time in the entire shows run...Littlefinger seemed properly afraid when he saw what Arya had become, and he doesn't even know the half of it yet. He's surrounded now by people who either don't trust him, or openly are hostile to him.

So, one of the dominant themes this season has been reunions. So who do you think will be reunited next?

- Tyrion and Jaime?

- Bronn and Tyrion ?

- Jorah and Dany? This could be super awkward based on where Dany and Jon's courtship is.

- Arya and The Hound?

- Sam and Jon? I mean, Sam will get valuable info about the White Walkers to Jon, he has to, right? I guess he could send a Raven with what he has learned though.

- Brienne and The Hound ?

- Brienne and Tormand ?

- Blackfish and ?

- Ramsay Bolton's hounds and Nymeria's pack ?

- Jon and the Brothers of the Night's Watch ?

- The Hound and The Mountain ?

- Davos and Milisandre ? There's some unfinished business there, isn't there?

What do you guys think? Who's gonna have a happy or awkward reunion next? Enter you thoughts below. kaythxbye

Assuming it was Bronn that saved Jaime, I'd say it was a given you see a reunion between Jaime, Bronn and Tyrion next week.

A given regardless. Unless you assume that was Bronn's death scene, he will still be alive (due to the lack of radiant heat around dragonfire), he's going to be captured whether with Jamie or not.

Yes if it's a leaked spoiler I ll sharpen my knives! Anything else to current episode we are fine with.

it was a book/TV show crossover spoiler. You were discussing it on the previous page!

That's definitely acceptable. We are book nerds; probably 90% of us or more read the books before the show even began. We should feel free to talk about the implications of the valonqar prophecy, for example, even though it wasn't shown in the show. That's why these threads have always been in "Other Literature" instead of the TV etc. section.

I'm a total mark for badass dragon moments, so FUCK YEAH.

Littlefinger got a lot of Significant Looks this season, both giving and recieving. He's been a bit sidelined by the move into quick action more than politicking this season, but he must have something on the way (the show has set it up less than the book but I still think he'll be the final seven kingdoms baddie).

I wonder if Jaime will end up a drowned god re-introduction plot. Probably not, but there's been some hints that that idea's still around. Not really a lot of time in the show to bring it in then resolve it, though...
I can't carry it for you, but I can carry you.

One thing bothering me a bit about last night's episode.

Dany already doesn't have enough food for her army.
The north is short on grain.

Tyrion and Jon don't want Dany to torch the red keep because the people will never support her is she turns her dragon on "cities and castles".

So instead, she torches a supply line of the harvest for king's landing from the one place that still has food (the reach). People in a city starving because of her dragons will like her better?

For that matter, Drogon can apparently incinerate a Ballista while leaving Bronn unscarred. So he can't torch the red keep and spare King's Landing?

I mean, right now the people of KL don't even necessarily believe in dragons. One could argue that cooking Cersei the way Harren the Black went out , and then sparing the city would be an excellent way to demonstrate both her power and her restraint. But nope, instead, lets torch all the food and we can all starve together.

Speaking of which, how awesome would it be if they all eventually beat the night king, and then have such a terrible famine that the whole remaining continent goes Donner party. Now THAT is how you end the show.

Im pretty sure thats were we are headed! That or so few survive taht the food stores are enough. Its never really been clear to me how they survive 5 year winters with their level of technology anyway. Also its sees essos suffers the problem to a lesser degree? Also the one island chain is the land of summer or something? Not clear if they ever have winters so cold they ant grow food

Do you guys think Drogon is out of commission for awhile? And if so, what does that mean for Viserion and Rhaegal? If I remember correctly from the books (and I could be wrong), dragons only accept one rider. So if Dany is attached to Drogon, would Viserion or Rhaegal accept her? If not, does that mean what I think it does? Another with Targaryen blood can make the attempt to mount them? Oh snap!Posted Image

Wow, just saw the clip of the Varys/Littlefinger convo about chaos back in Kings Landing. Where Varys describes chaos as a pit - to which Littlefinger replies, 'Chaos isn't a pit... it's a ladder.'

No wonder he looked freaked when Bran said it to him. I totally missed that link - and I love the implications.
So that's the story. And what was the real lesson? Don't leave things in the fridge.

Littlefinger said:

People die at their dinner tables; they die in their beds; they die squatting over their chamber pots.

I had forgotten this reference. He's talking to Robin Arryn, who is scared to leave the Vale, Season 4 Episode 8. The death of Tywin is coming soon; I can't remember whether it was in 9 or 10.
