I'm looking forward to this - Dancer's Lament was more than decent and I hope this carries on.

amazon canada is still saying Sept 26. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Amazon Canada is now saying Nov. 14, but Indigo is offering an even bleaker picture with December 26.
(...and for the few of us that are interested: Erikson's Search for Spark is at March 2018)

Also, the page count has plummeted on the publisher page. I was looking forward to a nice, meaty 700 page Malazan novel, but now it says 400 pages, which is about the same as Dancer's Lament.

It should be pointed out that Chapters/Indigo are TERRIBLE....like the worst I've seen...at predicting/labelling release dates. They are worse about stock and ordering in store. I have found Dresden books out 2-3weeks early...and I've seen GRRM or Erikson books fail to show up on release day and take a week or more to be in stock.
I would say the only viable release date to take note of would be on the publishers website.
TL;DR: Chapters/Indigo are awful at most things from an organization standpoint.

I work for Indigo (not at any level to change anything, so don't blame me!) and I agree that in-store reliability is a crap-shoot, but I haven't (unfortunately) ever witnessed an updated, delayed release date that has been returned to the original earlier date. Here's hoping this is the first time I see that!
And, off topic, but when a book is not a Strict-On-Sale (can only be sold on/after the official release date) the "release date" is treated by the publisher as a "release by set date". Because of that, as soon as the distributors deliver the product to Indigo's warehouse it can be delivered and sold to the stores. That's why you can get your Dresden books (and most other Sci-fi/fantasy books, since very few sci-fi/fantasies authors garner the profiting powers that warrant a "strict-on-sale", hype-creating release) so early before the listed release date. I'm not sure why online retailers don't follow this allowance. Even Indigo's website won't sell a book before the listed release date, even if it's been on the shelf for a couple weeks.
As for not being there for the release date: I have no reasoning, and it frustrates me too. ;-)

While I would love to get a longer book, I'm more interested in quality. If it delivers like Dancer's Lament, then I'm going to be pretty happy.

i agree with this sentiment.
i would rather it be shorter and to the quality that Dancers Lament was.
also this might mean that the trilogy might become, well, more then a trilogy. maybe he's doing to this book what erickson did With DoD and tCG. instead of cram it all into one and cut a lot out, make it two books, to the quality he wants and then save what WOULD have been the third book int eh trilogy, as maybe the first book in a new Post-ascendency book?
the potential is there, especially sine i feel after 6-8 books, i think ICE really has found a good style that most people like.

For courtesy of the publishing house I have got an ARC of the book to write a review.
Finally, Deadhouse Landing has 380 pages and here I leave some photos

Ok, that character list looks to die for.
All those old powerful mages. What kind of shit are the going to get up to I wonder.
Also curious about Hawl. Hawl was the dead commander "Traveller" finds on Drift Avalii after they fought back an Edur attack, right? She was the wife of either Admiral Nok or Cartheron Crust. Can't quite remember.
EDIT: Also appears that Dassem has become the Mortal Sword of Hood. Had he gained that title during Dancer's Lament?

1. I would love to get more D'rek. One of the most interesting gods.
2. I think we all know who Jack is.
3. If I know my ICE, that's definitely not gonna be the only familiar face w/ a different name.

Awesome character list. It's a little lighter on the ascendants than I normally prefer, but I can't wait to see the beginnings of the Malazan Empire.

Interesting.... a Holy Invigilator of D'rek, a Demidrek, AND Tays 'merely' a high ranking priest.

Kinda rolling my eyes at "Sureth" and "Jack" but I'm still hype.

Just a heads up to the Canadians...the release date on the Chapters/Indigo website has jumped to mid-December now (note: it WAS previously in line with the Nov. 14th date).
Meanwhile amazon.ca still has it out the same day as OATHBRINGER, Nov. 14th.
I hope it's a glitch, and the street date is still the 14th.

The 16th date I saw on another site as well...that's not a normal date for a street date. 14th is a Tuesday (which makes sense), and the only other day of the week that I've seen books drop on is Fridays....but a Thursday? That's really odd.
