Yes, but when WE do it...it's Classy.

When others do it, it's reprehensible and tawdry.

Bombadil is about to lose to Devi. Who it appears got jiggy with Goldberry.

That's a rather ... modern interpretation of the Tolkienverse.

Wasn't it shown back in LOTR that threatening Old Man Willow with fire is exactly the wrong thing to do?

Phew! It seems the Tolkien fandom must have been activated late in the day because Bombadil got up and beat Devi. Up against Ragnar Volarus in the final, whoever the fuck he is.

Meh, Quick Ben could wreck all their shit without even thinking about it for more than a few seconds.

The Cage Match well has run dry of cool characters, time to retire it for a few years.

It's not that Kingkiller is bad. It is a good read, but Devi as a character is woeful compared to all challengers. If it was Kvothe I'd understand.

I cannot believe Dresden lost to any of them. Just cause Butcher is slow rolling his books. It feels like ages since I last read Dresden. Maybe time for a re read.

Final round, LotR Bombadil v Red Rising's Ragnar Volarus. Tom is the predicted winner but Ragnar has an early lead, 60-40ish.

...i will say, whatever the outcome, this has prompted me to move the RED series up in the TRP.

Tho', to be clear, Dresden was robbed.

It's now roughly 49%- 51% against Tom Bombadil. Boo.
I read Red Rising and it was good but not earth shatteringly so. Heck, I didn't even bother picking up the sequels but I guess I should have, if this Ragnar dude might actually knock off a freaking forest-god / Elder / whatever Bomby actually is.

I've no stake in this anymore, I just didn't want Devi to win.
