Harry has pulled ahead for now. Devi at 38.33% and Harry at 61.67%.

What I'd love to know is why Tom Bombadil is winning against Mr. Wednesday. I've always been under the impression that Bombadil was one of the least popular parts of Middle-earth. Am I wrong there?

How convenient! When Malazan people are in it y'all are like, "These fools, don't they know Quick Ben would mop the floor with everyone?!" but when it's poor Tom Bombadil vs. whoever y'all want it to be a popularity contest. SMDH!

And it's convenient, like I said. I'm finding it makes the whole thing a lot easier. I am SMDH in an up-down motion.

To Tolkien-ites, Bombadil is a favourite character actually. He is (as far as the elves can tell), one of (if not THE) oldest humans in Middle-Earth...and some think he may even be the physical manifestation of Iluvatar (God) on Arda. He married a river sprite, and gives Frodo and company the weapons with which they will defend themselves on Weathertop...and which Merry and Pippin take all the way to the battle on Pelanor Fields.

To non-Hobbit-lickers he's the literary equivalent of the author scooping up the poor endangered characters in his mighty hand, saying 'there there it will all be ok' in non-rhyming verse mostly about his own name, and then setting them down somewhere else to resume the story..

Fascinating...

Bombadillo v Wednesday and Devi v Harry are both down to +/- 1% difference with 13 hours to go.

Same for Ragnar v Kell but i haven't read either series yet so i don't care. :p ...tho both are in the eTRP.

Harry is losing to a side character, that hardly appears or makes impact. So funny.

Clearly the Rothfuss fans are cheating. Should we cheat?

They cheat faster than me, and I have work to do :-(. Harry's lead is quite narrow atm.

Devi had a late surge and won. 50.37 to 49.63.

How the hell a Patrick Rothfuss character could be more popular than Dresden has me baffled.

And who the hell are Georgia Mason and Ragnar Volarus?

Fuck this shit, I'm voting Bombadil.

Goddamit....Suri was winning her round fairly tidily...but bloody Seanan McGuire (I loathe her as a person...she's been the festering heart of some of the more vitriolic genre book online fights and doesn't mind stirring the shit pot), must have gathered her sycophantic followers to vote for her garbage zombie series character (seriously, the feed books are terribad) at the last minute, over Michael Sullivan's excellent woodland waif sorceress (Suri) with a pet wolf (Minna).

Sigh.

Bombadil for the win you guys, let's do this!

Everyone I've voted for so far has lost, dammit. Bombadil better take it all!

Well, it's official, Rothfuss-ians are voting in droves. Fucking DEVI is beating Bombadil. How that's a fathomable thing when Devi is AT BEST...irritating....is beyond me.

And I'm voting for the Red Rising guy on the other battle simple because I don't want Seanan McGuire and her rabble to win anything more.

How DARE they?!??!

...Malazfans would never stoop to such a thing.

(other than the two times we did such a thing... )

Tom Bombadil v Devi...

Is there a 'sort of vomit in my own mouth just a little and refuse to vote' option?
