True. I believe The Late Show has struggled. Colbert is not the the best interviewer and most of the time the best part of the show are these opening pieces and his opening monologue. Although one could place criticism on the fact that his monologue is too focused on Trump, which if he was on the Colbert Report on the Comedy Channel it would be accepted, but as a serious late night talk show it can come off as one sided and sour grapes that Trump won the presidency.
