I'm the Half-Orc, by the way :D. I figured the extra day of life would come in handy.

Oh, I forgot to mention - I also have a passive that means anyone who targets me automatically takes 1 extra point of damage from all attacks on the same night. Don't know how easy it will be to control, but might be worth bearing in mind.

It might be worth trying to focus down a few players. If you can start killing them off at night it will make it easier to press our numerical advantage on thread.

Fanderay, on 01 February 2017 - 05:36 PM, said:

Something to bear in mind - the Rogue probably has a Mage Hand in the game. Mage Hands are lynch proof and bulletproof, so there's no point targetting them with an NA. Given how many votes it took to lynch, they almost certainly were on the lynch train. It might be better to target players who aren't on the lynch train, so you can be more sure that you aren't wasting your attacks.

Ultama, on 01 February 2017 - 07:18 PM, said:

I have read what you said but I am away until the morning to reply properly. A load of alts will have 1HP so I could effectively target 2 other players instead of Lock and Sorrit. Or just keep hitting ones we suspect as heirechy with both attacks meaning 10 damage a go. Lock may be a leader the way he has played. Thoughts?

Ultama, on 01 February 2017 - 07:24 PM, said:

Mockra must be in the faction without barbs and kesso is no fan of the warlock hence putting it on thread. Unless he is quoting our team members?

Do you think Kesso is on our team and is signalling us with that post with barb and warlock abilities?

Ultama, on 01 February 2017 - 07:31 PM, said:

Either they will lynch Kesso or not. I am fully attacking Lock at night.

I intend to rage at night for now until votes will be needed and we have a block, does that make sense to you?

Fanderay, on 01 February 2017 - 09:40 PM, said:

Just been thinking about the vote counts. Most players can't draw any conclusions about them, but because we have extra info, I think we can.

- There are 5 puppets in the game, and we know about 2 of them, leaving 3 unaccounted for.
- We know that at most one of the other three puppets can affect the number of votes it takes to lynch, because on Day 1 it took 7 votes to lynch, and both my puppets count. Therefore maximum countable players is 13.
- One alt must be the Clockwork Toy, because the Rock Gnome is in the game. The Toy can't vote and doesn't count towards vote count.
- One alt is probably a Mage Hand, because there's a Rogue in the game. The Mage hand can't vote but does count towards vote count. Also has BP and LP.
- So there's also one unknown puppet that we don't know anything about. However, we can assume that it doesn't count towards the vote count, and as far as I can tell, that means its votes won't count either.

What does that tell us? Well, we know it took 9 votes to lynch Omtose. I don't buy that any of the Barbarians will have activated their Rage - they don't need their votes to count for extra to counteract anything else, because there's no second train to overcome (Did you use your Rage during the day?). So I think that means that on the train are 7 alts who can vote, and 2 puppets. And once you leave out us, that means that in the following list there are 4 voters and 2 puppets:

Kessobahn, Pallid, Alkend, Lock, Sorrit, Iparth Erule

So of the players who weren't on the train, there must be exactly one puppet. That is:

Bek Okhan, Mockra, Trake, Tulas Shorn

Ultama, on 01 February 2017 - 10:29 PM, said:

Great Spot.

Just had a look at role types and surely wizard wont have anything so either paladin or druid...

Ultama, on 01 February 2017 - 10:30 PM, said:

Hmm we definitely need to keep our one player alive as he may have healing abilities.

Fanderay, on 01 February 2017 - 11:39 PM, said:

So I think pushing on Mockra is a good shout. Pretty sure that was a slip from them. In the meantime, I'm going to focus the thread's minds on players who weren't on the train - if we can flush out one or two of those it could help with identifying the puppets. To do that, I've sent PS my day action - going to try and link Trake and Bek Okhan together and see if that stirs anything up. Key thing to look at is who dismisses it as misinformation and who thinks there might be something to it - if either of them are actually a faction leader someone might give something away.

I said this to PS yesterday evening, so it would be announced when I was not around. Now it could get put up anytime.

Ultama, on 01 February 2017 - 07:27 PM, said:

Announcement please.

I got your signal. Thank you. Please attack Lock this night. Alkend you are playing well.

Okay you do that, I am more active for the next 8 hours or so. So I am around.

I like your announcement - it's going to cause the thread to start hunting for signalling. They might dig up something other teams have done for us :D.

Fanderay, on 02 February 2017 - 04:12 PM, said:

Just as I'd hoped, my post as Fanderay made people pay attention to the allegations about Mockra. Glad that's going well.

Something to think about - at this stage, there may be a dynamic in play where the followers are looking to their leader to decide where to vote (leaders are more likely to have alts, so if a faction sees their leader being reticent it might be a sign that they should avoid pursuing it). So I'd be looking at Trake and BO as possible leaders here.

Fanderay, on 02 February 2017 - 04:15 PM, said:

We should figure something out - do you want me to keep this connection open into Day 3? The other options I have at my disposal are:

- 2x 1 point of magic damage (eg. either to two different alts, or two shots to the same alt)
- +2 votes required to lynch me.
- Form a lover connection to someone else.

I think you might be onto something with Kessobahn - that post can be construed as a signal. Flipside is that opening a lover connection to an unknown player might be pretty risky...

Any preference? Remember that I will be able to signal to you a little bit with the day action if need be.

Honestly, I think keeping this connection open will be best because people will know you are the warlock when you open up a lover connection as there aren't many other roles in the game that will do this.

Hmm advice wanted on my night action, at the moment I have zoomed in on lock, both attacks dealing 10hp, I am going to keep it there for now. Keep our lover connection for at least one more day so we have good communication and plan of action after seeing what happens at night.

I am going to rage at night because it looks like we have lynch numbers.

Fanderay, on 02 February 2017 - 05:05 PM, said:

OK, I'll keep the connection open. Was just thinking it might be worth sending out a couple of attacks to try and clear any "First attack to hit you will miss" type defences.

Any reason for Lock, beyond the fact you picked him yesterday? I'm just a little concerned you might be wasting all your efforts on a Mage Hand (eg. someone with an infinite BP).

Only someone with this much power could make this many frittatas without breaking any eggs.

Just in case the lover connection does drop (eg. because I'm guarded, for example), here's the code I'll use with my prestidigitation (name of the Day ability I have):

- Sparks flying from Player X's hands = I think this player is on our team
- Player A smells like Player B = I think Player B is Player A's master
- Player X smells like something bad = I think Player X is on our team
- Player X smells like something good = I think Player X would be a good target for a night action

We have something here. I think Mockra is still the right choice and that Trake is a puppet. Either way the remove votes stink. Feels like a "play"

Fanderay, on 02 February 2017 - 08:32 PM, said:

Way I see it there are two possibilities:

- Sorrit is a follower of Mockra. Switches us onto Trake (either because he knows something about Trake, or because he's a convenient patsy). Alkend is a follower/puppet of Trake, kicks up a fuss in return.

- Sorrit knows Mockra is a puppet, pulls some bullshit to stop the lynch...why exactly? Maybe he's a follower who wants to try and keep control of the day time.

I don't buy that there's a Mockra/Trake connection. I don't think you publish your puppet guesses like that without any corroborating info. Might just press Sorrit on that point and see what comes out.

Fanderay, on 02 February 2017 - 09:25 PM, said:

Might be worth rethinking your announcement, btw.

I have a plan for tomorrow:

- If Gamelon is NKed, then we play up the idea that TS contolled Gamelon and is the Warlock. Then we point out he was defending Trake and try and get him lynched as the other faction leader.

Seem like a good idea?

Fanderay, on 02 February 2017 - 09:41 PM, said:

(If we can put out an announcement that implies Tulas Shorn is the Warlock, but is subtle enough not seem like a plant, it'll help a lot)

Ultama, on 03 February 2017 - 07:12 AM, said:

Day 3 I cannot vote but I use an extra attack tonight.

So going for Lock twice and Alkend once.

Fanderay, on 03 February 2017 - 10:15 AM, said:

Sounds like a plan. I've submitted the following provisional:

If Mockra is not a faction leader:
Guard Sorrit

Else:
Guard Trake

I feel like Trake is probably a faction leader based on the way Sorrit's attack drew Alkend and Tulas Shorn out of the woodwork. But if Mockra is actually a puppet, then that means Sorrit must have finds, and finds in a faction game need to be eliminated ASAP.

Fanderay, on 03 February 2017 - 10:21 AM, said:

Also, I've put in orders to keep this connection alive. If it drops, that means I was guarded last night.

I think Lock is someone important but it is a hunch on their playstyle and presence on thread. A lot of people are being pushed towards being lynch worthy, so I don't want to openly attack Lock on thread and draw heat from any other faction members, so I attack him off stage so to speak. If he is a leader then I don't think they have self protection. So 5HP night one, plus 10 HP night two. That leaves him on 10 HP, if you think this is fruitless in case he is a mage hand or some such then night 3 I can always spread my attacks and ask you to do the same and clear any rabble out of there.

Fanderay, on 03 February 2017 - 11:45 AM, said:

It's probably fine. I think I'm just being paranoid. Chances of you picking out the Mage Hand Night 1 are pretty slim, and to be honest I feel more likely that it's Sorrit after all the trouble he just caused. Go with your hunch until we have some evidence to the contrary.

After today's lynch train we should be able to triangulate where the puppets are a lot better. That'll help narrow things down a lot.

Sorrit and Trake must be Rock Gnome and Toy

Fanderay, on 03 February 2017 - 03:06 PM, said:

There were 2 non-voters on the train. It's unlikely there are raging barbarians here, because the only other Barbarian in the game is on the same team. So we can split the thread like this:

2 puppets in: Sorrit, Trake, Alkend, Pallid, Tulas Shorn
1 puppet in: Kessobahn, Bek Okhan, Iparth Erule, Lock

From Night 1, we can also split them like this:

2 puppets in: Kessobahn, Pallid, Alkend, Lock, Sorrit, Iparth Erule
1 puppet in: Bek Okhan, Mockra, Trake, Tulas Shorn

Actually, now that I think about it it's a little more complicated than that. We know of two players who could have changed the weight of their vote:

- Vash the Stampede, the Half-Elf Rogue
- Ethlered the Unready, a Dragonborn Barbarian

Ah, and actually, Mockra could have had a vote weight of zero if Raged at night.

That sort of screws up all my calculations :D.

No I did not get hit. Hmm weird, what HP does that leave you all with?

Lock is still alive, that is 2 hits. Alkend is still Alive that is 1 hit.

Should I switch target? Not sure if any of my attacks are doing anything.

If Lock is a leader without protection then he should be down to around 10 HP.

Can you target him tonight, and I will double target him and he should go down, or do you think cut ties and move elsewhere?

Fanderay, on 04 February 2017 - 01:04 AM, said:

OK, reading through Trake's reveal, something clicked in my head. What he is describing matches up precisely with one of the abilities in my role PM. It was a familiar called a Sprite that had 1HP and could perform faction finds.

So, two options:

- Wizards or Druids can also have this ability. Trake is telling the Truth.
- Trake has seen the full Warlock ability sheet before and is trying to make it seem like the Warlock has been in contact with him. His statement that they may be in his faction is an implicit claim of being in the Fifth (and therefore Druid).

The aspect of the latter story that doesn't make sense is that if Trake has a Lover connection ability, he would have used it to open a channel to you on Night 1. To do otherwise would be stupid.

This makes me think that he must be in a different faction. Probably Bridgeburners, and he thinks he is talking to the Wizard?

Ultama, on 04 February 2017 - 09:39 AM, said:

Night one you were attacked once and night two twice. This to do with the announcement?

I have not been attacked as far as I know. So what is the difference between Fanderay and ultama on thread? Have you accused someone Ultama hasn't?

Tonight I use an attack on Lock or swap to 2 different alts? Like Pallid and Tulas?

Fanderay, on 04 February 2017 - 09:51 PM, said:

On balance, I think Lock is more likely than not to be a real player. If we target him though, I should submit my action first - that way if there are passive defenses that block the first attack my cheap attack will clear it (I asked PS about this at one point).

Ultama, on 06 February 2017 - 02:48 PM, said:

How much HP do you have left?

Fanderay, on 06 February 2017 - 05:09 PM, said:

11HP with my main alt, 2HP with Telas. Will try and be more active with Telas today while he's still around.

Fanderay, on 06 February 2017 - 05:37 PM, said:

So I'm going to submit a provisional targeting Lock and Iparth Erule (I think IE is hiding where I'd expect a leader to be). After I've done that, your action should come afterwards and will avoid any defenses (hopefully).

Seem reasonable? Note this means the connection will go down for Day 4 - I think that's alright. We can use Announcement/Prestidigitation to tell each other who we're targeting.

Yes sounds good to me. Hmm any point in me distancing from Telas?

Pallid has revealed your faction.

Telas' anyway.

Interesting stuff. Maybe Trake is the right call?

Fanderay, on 06 February 2017 - 11:08 PM, said:

So the problem we have is that if Telas is lynched and is revealed to be an alt, it will damage Pallid's credibility and make it harder to lynch Trake/BO.

I think the solution is to argue that Pallid is probably Bridgeburners and either push a Trake lynch or try and find a leader. I actually think Alkend might be a good shout if we can swing it.

Fanderay, on 06 February 2017 - 11:23 PM, said:

Damn, I wish Ultama had told me properly about Haste! I could have put 2-and-2 together and figured out that Sorrit was on my team. I was thinking there was no way he was on our team, because he would have cast Haste on Ultama first opportunity and I hadn't heard about it, and that's why I attacked him on Night 6. Otherwise he would have survived another day and everything would have been very different.

ST
Don't look now, but I think there's something weird attached to the bottom of my posts.

Alkend is definitely not Fifth, so might make a good future target. Or just keep focusing down Lock, that'll pay off eventually.

So sorry, had to resolve without you.

Hang on just a moment here. You're making the claim of being a puppet. Everyone then piles off your train. That stinks.

All this "don't lynch puppets" BS can only be coming from puppets/puppeteers because no-one is hitting them at night and they give the puppeteers big advantages. Get rid of them any way possible.

Vote Mockra

Ok. Waste the lynch today on something that has 1 hp. That makes sense.

Oh, and another thing... Did you like it when I touched you last night Kesso? I hope you did, because I'm really looking forward to it again tonight.

I'm already happy because the shitstorm I've created is fucking fun as contrary to the "vote Mockra" "Vote Mockra" "vote mockra" plus nobody of my faction seems to be in danger so far so I don't really have to care about who gets lynched anyway. My shitty alting won't change that. And it's Bek.

1 action and 1 bonus action per cycle (day or night, though your actions will say if they're usable in day or night)

Passives are always active and are triggered by something in their description. Your Aura of Warding, for example, is always active. If you had chosen another aura spell, you would have had to choose which one was active at any given time, but a passive ability isn't an action or a bonus action.

And there are very few of them, but some actions are Free Actions, so they can be used for free whenever they are valid for.

And finally, there are a few Reaction abilities as well, which are triggered if a player is hit by an attack or otherwise hurtful ability.

This is all in the D&D Info thread, btw! :D

Someone has cast haste on you. You can use the attack action one additional time during the upcoming Night phase, but will be unable to vote during Day 7.

I'm taking my time in resolving Day and then will take my time resolving Night so that you have a bit of time to get your extra attack order in to me. Please let me know!

Unfortunately you can't use Lay on Hands on yourself, only other players. Guess I'll need to make that clearer in the description.

Lock, on 10 February 2017 - 03:21 PM, said:

Haste is something I might see a Rogue being able to do - does the BB leader think I'm theirs, or is that just wishful thinking? Probably the latter.

Tempting, but no, a vote is too valuable now...though I might pretend I can't vote.

Just regular attack and thundering smite on Kesso, please.

No no, you don't have a choice. Haste has been cast on you. You are not allowed to vote during Day 7.

Take the extra attack, you have to suffer the negative effects whether you take it or not.

Urgh, now I have to wash this stink off. Will I ever feel clean again?:D

So I took no damage last night?

So with the death of Alkend (I was convinced earlier in the game, until yesterday really, that they were an alt, so I never thought to target them in my quest to become an Oathbreaker) I can no longer have the opportunity to resurrect. Which means it comes down to not being lynched, and not being killed in the night.

Let's do Attack and Thunderous Smite on Fanderay for now. If lynched, on Iparth Erule.

Lock, on 17 February 2017 - 03:22 PM, said:

Actually, let's Nature's Wrath Fanderay/Iparth. They might have a big ability they want to use first which needs multi-day recharging, and if we go back into day, then maybe I can quickly catch them out by voting night and attacking.

Assuming they're not a fake alt I make that 5 damage (go on, the Chanel Divinity will double the Divine Smite too for 6 damage, you know I want you to :D ) and a Spellcaster-or-not find. If they are fake then 6 (or 7...)

I guess that's my actions for the next 3+ Nights sorted out...

Alkend, on 01 February 2017 - 07:20 AM, said:

Oh and if I kill Gamelon with my attack I'd like to request a picture on thread to accompany resolution. A kitten savaging something fruity/flowery that looks a little like Gamelons avatar.

Why? Because I swore an Oath of Vengeance and want to make him proud. Or, you know, rant.

Okay, so you can only attack OR do the Spellcaster find as both are considered an action, and you only get one action per cycle.

Unless you tell me otherwise before I finish resolution, I'm going to go with

Attack + Divine Smite.

You would be able to use Vow of Enmity with the above two as it's a Bonus Action, so if you'd like to do that, let me know. Otherwise, I go with the above.

Sir Cecil Crushington has attacked Fanderay twice so potentially Oath of Vengeance taken. 10AP breakdown could be:
Thunderous Smite 1AP
Fanderay didn't vote so could have Staggering Smite in play (8AP) if no vote from him today then likely, also if hit again Oath likely.

The order has to go through in order for you to be considered as having broken your oath. So you could submit an order tonight, if it goes through (i.e. you're not guarded), then you will have broken your Oath, and all your spells and abilities (save your Lay on Hands and Attack) will be replaced with the Oathbreaker abilities appropriate for your faction role.

Oathbreaker

An Oathbreaker is a paladin who breaks his or her sacred oaths to pursue some dark ambition or serve an evil power. Whatever light burned in the paladin's heart has been extinguished. Only darkness remains.

All your skills and abilities (except for your Lay on Hands and Attack action) are replaced with the following:

Aura of Hate (Passive) Cost - 0 AP: This aura is always active. You and your party members always take 1 additional damage from all incoming sources of damage and do 1 additional magic damage on all your attacks.

Dominate Person (Night Action) Cost - 3 AP: Once per night, you may choose a target player. You control their alt for the following day cycle. You cannot choose the same alt twice.

Dominate Fanderay

You have been guarded, which has prevented you from breaking your Oath.

In the event of speed lynching my orders for each successive night are:

If/when I'm Oathbroken, Dominate in the order: Ultama, Fanderay, Bek Okhan, Lock, Sorrit, Tulas Shorn

The domination will hopefully stall speed-lynches when I'm asleep and allow us to partially control the lynch.

Question: If I throw 10HP of Heal at someone can it take them above their starting HP?

So, I think we are better off getting rid of the bonehunters leader since he could possibly bring a teammate back from the dead. There hasn't been an announcement saying that is no longer possible, so it is still out on the table.

I'll let you all in on what I know, and have figured out.

First of all, Fanderay is a real boy. I read part of his pm and he has an Entropic ward that ensures that any player targeting him with a night action will take 1 additional damage from all sources during the same night cycle.

Second, I reread the thread, and Tulas has never voted. I'm pretty sure he is the clockwork toy since his votes don't count. When I reread, I saw a lot of similarities between Fanderay's and Tulas's posts which convince me they are the same person.

vote Fanderay

First up, IE is going to get themselves killed.

Secondly, Fanderay isn't Cecil the Paladin. Not only would they not attack themselves for the booming sounds N1 & N2 but that Entropic Ward isn't a Paladin ability. Of course they're not to know that.

If Lock/Kessobahn are retarded they'll vote for Fanderay and I can lay a 3rd vote and hope that Dominate targets a real alt.

Gnome Paladin
Leader of the Bonehunters / HP = 25 23 17 11 10 9

As a rock gnome, you have a natural inventiveness and hardiness beyond that of other gnomes. As a rock gnome, you automatically have the following ability:

Clockwork Toy (Passive): You control 1 additional alt. Its votes don’t count, it cannot attack at night, and it only has 1 HP, however its existence will affect the amount of people needed in order to lynch a player. If it is lynched or otherwise killed, it will CF as a Clockwork Toy.

Announcement: Once per day, you may have PS post an on-thread message from you. You can say anything you want in this message.

Lay on Hands (Night Action) Cost - 0 AP: You have a pool of 10 HP. Each night, you may choose to heal one player for 1 or more HP, until you have used up all 10 HP in your pool.

Attack (Night Action) Cost - 0 AP: You attack with your weapon. Target player takes 3 weapon damage.

Dueling: You carry a dueling saber. All weapon attacks made by you do 1 additional damage. All weapon attacks targeting you do 1 less damage.

Thunderous Smite (Bonus Night Action) Cost - 1 AP: The first attack on which you hit your target after casting this spell does 1 additional magic damage. The night scene will also include the following: "A loud crashing boom emanates from Player".

Oath of the Ancients

The Oath of the Ancients is as old as the race of elves and the rituals of the druids. Sometimes called fey knights, green knights, or horned knights, paladins who swear this oath cast their lot with the side of the light in the cosmic struggle against darkness because they love the beautiful and life-giving things of the world, not necessarily because they believe in principles of honor, courage, and justice.

Condition - Shelter the Light: You may not cause damage to other paladins, clerics, members of your own party, or any non-magical, non-player controlled creature. If you do so, you will lose half of your current HP and become an Oathbreaker (further information about being an Oathbreaker paladin will be shared with you if this happens).

Channel Divinity - Nature's Wrath (Night Action) Cost - 1 AP: Instead of your attack, you may guard target player. Their night action will automatically fail.

Misty Step (Night Action) Cost - 3 AP: If you use this as an action, the first two attacks targeting you during the night cycle will miss.

Aura of Warding (Passive Action) Cost - 5 AP: Only one aura spell/ability can be active at a time. While this aura is active, all members of your party take 1 less damage from all sources of damage. (This counts once for each attack made against you, not once for all attacks made against you).
