Joe abercrombie is the most obvious absence from your list. Not as good as most on your list but in the mix.

The fifth season by nk jemisin is incredible you should read it.

The first fifteen lives of Harry August by Claire North is very good.

Uprooted by naomi novaks is good.

Have you tried clines non ex-heroes series? Vaguely lovecraftian and very fun. Also Charles stross the laundry series.

Also you don't seem to have read any discworld books. You should remedy this.

You know that instant when your spider sense goes off right before acid is thrown in your face blinding you for the rest of your life. That is what you are sensing reading someone recommend Goodkind.

Other -
Black company, try the first omnibus, if its not for you, don't continue
David Gemmell - Legend.. just read it

I read Black Company prior to Malazan and found myself thinking of it right away when reading Malazan. I'm sure it's out there but was it a series that inspired Erikson?

Bridgeburners were heavily influenced by the BC as far as I know.

Erikson has a lot of love for his work

That makes a lot of sense, I guess it was pretty obvious looking back. I might do a re-read on Black Company now that you got me thinking about it again.

Try Fritz Lieber's Fafhrd and Gray Mouser stories. Like Erikson's funny bits, only they go on and on for whole books. I laughed my as off!

I read the first two Black Company books. They were ok but beyond that I didn't rate them very highly, to be honest.
Debut novel 'Incarnate' now available on Kindle

Thanks everyone. I updated my already read list. Based on some of your recommendations I am looking at the following so far

Books I am looking to add to the pile:
Acts of Caine - Mathew Stover
The Eda Burdens
The Waking Fire - Anthony Ryan
The First 15 lives of Harry August
The Mechanical
The Guns of Empire - Django Wexler
The Fifth Season

Twilight Reign - Tom Lloyd (I decided to try give this and his other works a second chance)
Stranger of Tempest - Tom Lloyd
Moon's Artifice - Tom Lloyd

Upcoming Books
A Plague of Swords - Miles Cameron (Oct 27th)
The blinding Knife - Brent Weeks (Oct 27th)

@Vengeance, Are you recomending a book called streampunk (I cant find it) or the Genre Steampunk (Which I do enjoy)
