If life was fair, we'd see BEL-CRO final, as both teams have their "golden generation" squads now, with many strong players on their way out who won't make it to the next WC. Whereas both France and England are brimming with up and coming young talent and can build on the semi-final milestone on their way to Euros and then Quatar.

But, despite my strong wishes to see my 2 favourites make it to the end, they're much more likely to be playing each other next Saturday for 3rd place.

Belgium looked like it peaked against Brazil. They played well, but their passing in the last 3rd felt rushed and inaccurate.

Sure, this is partially due to French D applying good pressure, but it felt like Belgium were just consistently failing at those short passes. Their usual finesse just wasn't there in either passing or finishing.

France's offense, otoh felt inspired. Too bad Giroud had no touch, otherwise we'd have seen some pretty goals.
