This is really neat. A LEGO set is being released in advance of the third season. Rather pricey though @ $200USD.

So we've been watching the show Fringe with my daughter lately. My wife and I watched when it initially ran but got lost between seasons or because they kept moving the night it ran and we never saw all 5 seasons, probably into S3. Just watched S4 ep3 and there a major similarity to Stranger Things in it. A young boy develops a symbiotic relationship with a fungus that grows and spreads very much like the entrance area to the underside in S1 of ST. (The black roots branching out, if you will) And the kid is harmed when the growing organism is. Thought it was pretty cool.

Loved FRINGE, even the weaker seasons. Walter Noble is the greatest mad scientist ever.

Anna Torv totally dropped off the map. I wonder what ever happened to her?

My wife and I just watched a show called Secret City on Netflix that Anna Torv starred in. It takes place in Australia and deals with their versions of the NSA, FBI, CIA, etc. There are 2 seasons. Anna Torv plays a reporter investigating international incidents. It was amusing hearing her native Australian accent after she covered it quite well on Fringe. It was a pretty decent show. The 2nd season was new a couple months ago, I believe.

We don't do posters here much do we? Maybe I can start a new trend at the Empire? LOL!
Anyway, this is going to be the best summer ever!

I was lukewarm on Season 2. Hopefully they write a tighter plot this year.

My major hope was that they give Will a break, and it looks from the trailers that he isn't the focus for the monster (at a guess I'd say it's Max's brother this time).

In the Upside Down it already happened.
Poor Will.

Binged the entire season today. Least favorite of the 3, but still good.
Trouble arrives when the opponents to such a system institute its extreme opposite, where individualism becomes godlike and sacrosanct, and no greater service to any other ideal (including community) is possible. In such a system rapacious greed thrives behind the guise of freedom, and the worst aspects of human nature come to the fore....

I will give it another go over the weekend as there's every chance I just wasn't in the mood, but I watched the first couple of eps last night and it's failed to grab me entirely, which is a bit of a shock given how much I loved the first two series.
Think some of it might be I always liked the character of Mike in the first couple of series and in the first ep in particular he's taking young teen dickhead off the richter scale.

Oh I am SO glad I'm not the only one who noticed this. Mike became a SUPER dick over the summer. I was so happy when Hopper yelled at him in the truck. Like dude, this girls dad is having a conversation with you and you whisper in El's ear? FUUUUUUUUUCK you punk.

You forgot to tell him to get off your lawn.
Only one ep in, but he's a fourteen year old kid who helped defeat two interdimensional invasions and has a superpowered girlfried who wants to make out with him all the time. ...if anything they toned it down.

If this little shit tried that disrespectful crap with me....I'd have torn a strip off him like Hopper did too, no question.

How so? Lucas is still a moron when it comes to girls but otherwise level, Will is again just keeping his head down and waiting for the next apocalypse, Dustin is still a loveable idiot, Max is smarter than any of them but happy to have the friends... what's really changed (bearing in mind i'm all of one ep in...) for anyone but Mike and Eleven?

WAFO.
Edit: Remember, I've seen the entire season. There is a reason I ranked it worst. It has shades of HP and OoTP.

Only on ep2 but I'm enjoying it.
Loved the 'I can do anything I want. I'm the Chief of Police.' Straight out of Jaws... immediately after drinking red wine too!

Thought this season ruled. Not quite the magic of S1, which would be near impossible to recapture, but better than S2 overall and the finale was the best finale they've done.
