I am pretty sure buddy monk will turn into an alternative version of Bullseye. That whole "folding tin foil into ninja stars" trick was way to similar to Bullseye's skill.

I'm pretty sure with the Iron Fist tanking and Disney pulling back rights on some of this stuff, and eventually doing their own streaming, they may never get to that endpoint.
Tatts early in SH game: Hmm, so if I'm liberal I should have voted Nein to make sure I'm president? I'm not that selfish

Tatts later in SAME game: I'm going to be a corrupt official. I have turned from my liberal ways, and now will vote against the pesky liberals. Viva la Fascism.

Having not watched Iron Fist I dunno who Buddy Monk is but I'll be amazed if they don't cast a fairly big-name actor as Bullseye.

This disappoints me.

Haven't watched yet.

But echoing PG, Luke cage was excellent first half then fell apart when the villan changed. IF flat out sucked.
I was hoping this was going to be more DD and JJ than IF.

Boo. Will still watch

I'm curious to see how it ends, but I think Alexandria's biggest mistake was not killing Stick and turning him into Black Sky. He's the scariest one I've seen so far.

Wait, what? Did I miss an episode? Are you hooked on the crazy pills?

I'm only up to episode 4.

I enjoyed it. It's very silly in places but I was entertained throughout. It doesn't have the intensity of the better parts of DD or Luke Cage, or the overall intelligence of Jessica Jones, but it takes a plotline that was threatening to go sour big-time stylee in its appearances in previous shows and rescues it fairly credibly, though not without issues. And the heroes spark off each other very well, which is half the point of this thing. Even Iron Fist's crapness is used to the show's benefit.

I loved how the leaders of the Hand were joking about how Rand seemed even dumber than the other Iron Fists. I never read the IF and LC comics but I really don't care for IF. Loved watching him posture in the board room with Alexandria (ep 3?) when she taunts him about not hiding.

Yeah, I think this show would have been all but unwatchable if they hadn't picked a good actor to play the villain.

Ah. As far as I remember from Daredevil S2, you don't just turn people into "Dark Sky". The Dark Sky is some kind of reverse-Golden Child. Electra was born to be the Dark Sky... I think? Just like that kid Daredevil tried to save from Stick.

But yeah, a zombie-fied, rejuvinated Stick would be very scary. Imagine what he might have been like in his younger years.

Finished last night. It was OK-enough to marathon 6 episodes, which makes it good in my mind. Not going to rewatch it, though.

So, like a lot of people, I found the Iron Fist to be the biggest weakness. His show, plus the Defenders, and still no clue x 4 about why he was chosen to be the Iron Fist. All we have is intermittent power and sullen tantrums . . . from a super powered monk, none-the-less. This character needs work, immediately.

MODGOD NOTICE OF MOVED THIS FROM THE INHUMANS THREAD

From that link there's also talk about Daredevil Season 3. Seems they are in fact going with the Born Again story arc. So now I know I need to see it.

Unfortunately they also dash my dreams of a faithful recreation against the rocks of Netflix current treatment of the characters:

That's such an amazing story. Everyone who loves Daredevil loves Born Again. You can't not. And if that's the case, then the implications of that would be very exciting to me. That would be great. Having said that, I know we don't tend to follow any story blueprints too closely, because if you do, then you become a foregone conclusion.

There may be elements from Born Again, but I'm sure there will be elements that are unfamiliar and surprising and different in order for the show to be compelling to fans who know the comics very well. If we start making Born Again page-for-page, then the people who have read it and loved it — the hardcore fans — they won't have too much drama.

I'm mostly certain that they won't go with the whole 'Karen Page becomes a junkie then a porn star then a hooker then sells Matt's ID to the Kingpin for one measly hit of heroine' storyline.

...but i could be wrong.

We only watched the first episode so far, but both my wife and I were BORED TO FUCKING TEARS by it.

It's like they took out all the little annoying things we didn't like about the other single character shows...and brought them together...

I don't know how much I care to continue to be honest. That episode was BAD.

How you screw up a superhero team up show after 4 separate character seasons (some good, some bad)...is beyond me.

Like here's my example. The last DC show crossover...was 3 eps of glorious, fun, comic booky awesomeness.

In comparison, DEFENDERS was shit on a stick.

I finished the show. IT was awful. The dialogue was so cringy, almost all the time, and the plot itself was moronic at best. Not to mention that the five fingers of the hand (maybe with the exception of Weaver... maybe) were as threatening as the Immortal Iron Fist.

Man I as so glad I watched it on my phone commuting to/from work. I would just fastforward when ever Iron Fist would talk. I have strong hopes for Punisher. But I am not going to watch another Defenders unless they get a different show runner and writting team. It was the delivery it was the writting. High school production bad writting.
How many fucking people do I have to hammer in order to get that across.

Not sure if you had an aneurism but if Iron Fist was a 1/5 stars show, then defenders is 2/5. Bad, often terrible, some times cool. Barely worth it if you really want to see the four heroes team up but ultimately disappointing and infuriating.

Though the JJ and DD duo parts were the closest thing the show came to being interesting. Maybe we'll get to see more of that in JJ2 and DD3
