Good points. I suppose that remains to be seen. But I thought Endest Silann (and perhaps MD, through Endest) also mention her in FoL. At the very least they bless here as a High Priestess at the end of FoD, so (at least for now) I think she's real (though, naturally, not what she once was).

Could she be Orchid?
This is Malazan where resurrections are normal.

Seems unlikely - Orchid was mostly human with a distant Andii/draconic bloodline link that Mommy D could 'activate', but there was nothing to suggest she had a longer history.

Edgewalker Is the Throne of Shadow?

I was re-reading CG and I was struck by a comment of Silchas Ruin's when he was speaking to Tulas Shorn: (p 878)

'Since we are about to die, Silchas, will you tell me what happened to the true Throne of Shadow?' Silchas Ruin smiled and shook his head. 'Perhaps, if the throne so desires, it will one day tell you itself.'

'Thrones cannot speak.'

'That is true, and its just as well, dont you think?'

This made me think that Edgewalker could be the Throne of Shadow. He tells Cotillion during one of their comversations that he is an elemental force. One great aspect of this theory is that it completely makes sense that there wouod be some entity that is truly Father Shadow, not Scabby Bloodeye. Scarabandaris (Scabby) was a relatively lesser power/ minor player during the Elfin-like Tiste Series (Kharkanas Triliogy) from what i remember. I still have no clue who Edgewalker was before he came to be called 'Edgewalker' however, I'm leaning towards him actually being yet another Azathanai whose aspect may be shadow. He is named by Osserc as someone to be feared and known amongst the Azathanai.

I think Edgewalker is the azathanai aspected to shadow, suck as draconus is the one aspected to elemental night.

When Errastas summoned the Azathanai they spoke of Edgewalker, so we can be pretty sure of him being an azathanai.

Yes, although Osserc seems to have 'inherited' the title over time.
Yesterday, upon the stair, I saw a man who wasn't there. He wasn't there again today. Oh, how I wish he'd go away.
