Hey y'all.
Fantasy Faction, a great fantasy community, asked to interview me about my fandom of Malazan. I know some of you are thrice the fan I am, and that I am but measly crumbs upon Kruppe's magnanimous lips for having only read the series twice - but hopefully the interview works for you regardless!

P.S. Doing interviews makes you feel cool, even if it's just you rambling about the genius of others.

If that seems poetic, heavy or massive in scope, as if I did not answer the question, then WELCOME to the Malazan Book of the Fallen!

One of my most appreciated things about this Malazan series (and other works by other people) is the willingness of the author to challenge the reader. I am to be trusted to grasp complex concepts, link them, invest them with my own perspectives and biases, then see if I like/enjoy this or not? Sign me right up for that!
The trust and the faith in us - and in Erikson's own abilities - to explore all of these wonderful things within the books (and in real life) is what keeps me so enthused about this ten years plus after reading Memories of Ice (where I started the main series).
